Indiana has started to take control of this one after a back and forth opening 15'. The Hoosiers lead 6-2 in shots and have the match’s only shot on goal, with Stephane Njike forcing Michigan goalkeeper Alen Bean into a strong save in the 25th minute.
Njike has been Indiana’s most dangerous player so far. He has repeatedly beaten Michigan defenders in 1 on 1 situations down the sideline, created a couple of looks for himself and the rest of the hoosiers. IU has had its chances, including two Moller-Jensen free kicks and Nick McHenry’s volley after a corner, but has not been able to find the final touch.
Defensively, Indiana continues to look strong. Michigan has generated a few quick runs in transition, but the Hoosiers back line has consistently gotten to the ball before the Wolverines can create a real chance in the box. Michigan has yet to put a shot on frame.
It has been a physical first half with 13 total fouls. Michigan’s Kian Concepcion picked up the only yellow card in the 42nd minute. IU has the possession edge heading into the second half, but the finish is still the missing piece.
Uneventful second half so far 63'
Following a skirmish leading to another Michigan Yellow Card, Stephane Njike runs through Michigan defenders and scores a right footed shot, bottom left 64'
He then proceeds to give us the celly of the year, with a triple roundoff backflip, wow
