@mushroomgod Funny, between the two I wanted McCollum as he had more success (four Nattys, multiple regular season and conference tournaments, although at D-II).

I wanted BM or Bucky or Schertz.  The administration simply picked the wrong coach...again.

Agree on BM and Schertz.  Even if you didn't like the prospect of BM's style of play, Schertz was an obvious choice.  ADs almost always hire a coach that that has qualities opposite of the hated coach they just dumped.  In CDD's case.......pick a guy who loves shooting 3s, because Woodson was all about pounding the ball inside.  So we get a guy who can't recruit a center.  Argggggg

@mushroomgod I think Dolson had tunnel vision; it was DD from the get-go, imo. I'm sure IU did its due diligence by contacting other guys, but it wasn't going to be anyone else.

This post is subjective. Some on here seem to have difficulty understanding the difference between subjective and objective comments, so I thought I'd include this disclaimer.

I did not want either of those two, but I am guessing McCollum will probably be a bit more successful. Though I do not think either is going to have consistent top five or six type teams in the big ten. I think both will be 10-10 type coaches with an occasional 12-8 season as the ceiling. Some years probably 9-11.  From everything i am reading it really sounds like Dolson had tunnel vision which is not really a great way to hire a coach imo.

I was not high on brad bronwell but given how he has done since the portal he probably would have done better than both guys we just mentioned.

The more games IU plays, the more "ifs" come into play. Especially recently. Pretty much par for the course with this program, regardless of coach.

I may bitch all the time about DD, but I have to admit he's met the IU standard.
