This was a completely different team from four days ago. Baffling. All the effort and positive attitude were missing.

When the threes aren’t falling this is a tough team to watch.  The other deficiencies like our lack of consistent rebounding and interior presence get magnified.  The most disturbing thing to me though is that they let this affect other aspects of their game like defense, free-throw shooting, and their overall effort level.  It’s a big warning sign that this team lacks mental toughness.  Not sure what CDD is going to do to address it.  For starters I wouldn’t have permitted Alexis to do that postgame interview…

I missed the postgame interview and tried finding it, but came up empty.  Could you summarize what he said?

Just a bad game and they happen to every team. I'm way more concerned about the effort and issues within the game than a post game interview. But, we got another W and gave CDD plenty to coach on too. After years where we've lost games like this, sometimes badly, I think a lot of folks are overreacting. One of the very best things about this team, is that even when down or not playing their best, they've found ways to win. They haven't lost yet, on the PR trip, exhibitions and now 4 games into the season. We have a get right game and then a solid test against K St. Let's see how the team and staff respond before condemning the season. 

Personally I'm going to let this one slide. Maybe it's hard to get up for Incarnate Word.  But if this happens again then we are trending on inconsistency which will equal nothing better than what we had a year ago , new system or not.  Guys have to buy in and they have to be led.  If we don't have either of those it doesn't matter what the system is.
