Kentucky is playing a little shorthanded at the time. They have a couple starters out: Jaland Lowe, point guard & Jayden Quaintance 6' 10" Big 12 All Defensive Team transfer from Arizona State. Mark Pope can still turn the team around but let's hope that happens after IU leaves Freedom Hall with a win on December 13.  The Wildcats thumped Purdue 78 - 65 in an exhibition just a few weeks ago.

I just heard that they were missing those 2.  That makes a difference.   I'll take the W against them anyway I can.

Ball didn't move as well without those two.  Sparty just took them out of their offense.

UK players play selfishly.  Going so deep into the bench every game only magnifies the selfishness, trying to "get their own" in limited minutes.  Once their injured guys come back, the problem may become worse, assuming Pope doesn't shorten his bench.

Bad culture.

Kentucky got a lot of mileage out of that exhibition game.  Increased their preseason ranking from it.

I think that was a big overreaction.  Purdue / Painter just don't care about those exhibition games.  They lose them almost every year.

Rupp Rafters is always worth a peek when UK has a bad night. People already squealing about what happens if he loses to IU.

@squeakyclean No over reaction just saying Kentucky beat Purdue. I believe coaches and players go into those games with the intent to win but these games are used by teams "to figure stuff out" so it will help them in the regular season. Last year after IU beat Tennessee in that exhibition game a number of Hoosier fans got excited. We all remember how that turned out.

I agree.  I'm just saying that the Kentucky fan base (and by extension, many in the media) took that game where Purdue was "thumped" and put a bit of a higher expectation on Kentucky accordingly when it wasn't particularly warranted.
