It is an entirely new program from the players to the coaches — it’s hard to project for sure. The exhibition games will be really interesting.
That said, given our $10M roster spend and top-10 portal class, we really need to make the dance without much drama. If you spend that much you’ve got to expect that. Hopefully in year two of CDD we can establish ourselves as a top-20 team and go from there.

I’m gonna go opposite here and predict a top 7 finish with a ncaa bid! Book it!
I don't love our roster, just because of the lack of depth in the post, especially lacking a rim protector. But, obviously CDD has a profile for his type of player and he largely got that. I'd give him great marks for his first year at WVU, so I expect us to be top half of the league and in the NCAA field. I think with 100% roster turnover, that's a successful year and any more is exceeding (my) expectations.
Where did he predict UM last season? They ended up pretty good.

If he does that and recruits well for ‘26 (high school and portal) that would be a very good start. Year 2 we push to be top-20 or better.
A $10M payroll--purportedly one of the highest in the nation--and folks are hoping IU is Top 20 in YEAR 2? Given his resources, DD should have the Hoosiers in Michigan territory if he's all that.
Shooting alone will keep us in games. This will be a really good shooting team imho. A top 10 finish in the B1G will be a good starting point. But I’ll settle for 12th and beating Purdue keeping them from a B1G championship. 🤣
