Before anyone airs their dislike for those programs, I will be watching because they are #1 & #9 ranked teams, and IU will play them both this season. Game starts at 6pm eastern. Should be interesting for anyone who thinks they might (that's me) know something about college basketball.
So far it looks like KY is the better team....
Length of the Uk wings. Purdue will struggle with teams like this. Purdue looks slow. Well coached but limited athletically. Purdue gonna Purdue
@d-b-cooper - They lack the physical traits to be championship level great. They won't be able to overcome the strength and athleticism of the UConn, Florida and Houstons type teams they'll eventually run into in the Elite 8, final four, title games. Its so strange because they KEEP running into this issue. Painter is clearly a great coach and the team will play really good and do that more consistently than most all other programs. But as you get deeper into the season and tourney, the young athletic teams begin to come around and are just as consistently good by season's end....but are able to be quicker and more physical. Its groundhogs day.
Embarrassingly unathletic imo. The absolute ceiling for Purdue's defense is just below average like last season.
@middawg on the old site I went back and forth with some of their trolls on how damaging losing Colvin and Heide would be. Just and exhibition game, buuuut yeah… they’ll win their November Natty. They’ll win or compete for the B10 title because their schedule is charmin again this year. But they’ll lose in the NCAAs to a team with fast athletic guards and wings, like they always do.
Agree, they gave up roughly 20 blow bies and successful backdoor cuts it seemed, and their issue on those occasions was primarily athleticism.
Not to mention, the commentating crew calling them out for getting beat down the court routinely.
Their bigs, Kluff and Jacobsen, make tEdey seem like he was Wilt athletically.
I would add Caleb Furst to Colvin and Heide as big losses athletically for them. While he wasn't a very polished player, I never doubted his ability to matchup and compete physically against high major basketball players
PUke always being PUke.
@middawg liked Furst a lot when he was in high school
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
