Do you see the little gear under your name on the post like mine below? Second from the right.
Click on it and about halfway down the page you'll see this:
Click "choose file" and from there, you can upload it from your hard drive.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan. POTFB
@receipt-keeper I did this at least 3 dozen times to no avail. I believe I will prevail eventually.
I’m just guessing at what the issue could be.
Do you know what sort of picture file format you are trying to upload? Is it a .jpeg? Or .png? Or something else?
I ask because aside from perhaps the picture file being too large, the picture could be in a format this site doesn’t support. If this is the case, maybe try saving the picture on your hard drive as a basic format like a .jpeg. That may work on the site.
I have been kicking the tires on this site, and have a couple of thoughts. Overall I am getting much more comfortable, and look forward to when things pick up in the fall.
IMO the biggest improvement could be made by a small change to the list of all threads. Instead of showing who started a thread (and when) I would prefer seeing who made the most recent post. This will become even more important when things pick up. Keep in mind that people will be revisiting threads as new replies are made. So, seeing who makes a fresh reply creates interest (even better if it shows when the new reply was made). I do appreciate that threads that have unread replies appear bold and sometimes are labeled “hot”.
tips for users-
a couple of things I figured out.
With the old site you hit reply and it auto quoted the post you were replying to. It’s different here. To reply to a post that you want quoted in your reply use the “quote” function. Using the “reply” function just tags the person you are replying to (doesn’t quote their post).
the like function (thumbs up), does work but when you like a post the change is very subtle. I was expecting to see a solid (filled in) thumbs up, instead it just changes the border color of the thumbs up to a blue-ish tint that I was not noticing at first. I’m sure HH has plans to expand the options (currently just thumbs up or down)
