I've watched Burton since he was in middle school. I've always enjoyed watching him play. He was virtually unguardable at the HS level. Having said all that, if he's at all expensive (he is I'm sure), then I'd prefer IU not take him as their main PG. He is not a very willing passer. He's streaky. He's not a plus defender. He isn't very physical. I guess if he's paired with the right kind of lineup around him, he's very talented... but I'd much prefer someone that's more of a "dawg", bigger, stronger, plays more physical... as the main PG. He's small, fairly skinny, not a ball movement type of player, not a distributor.
@iunorth Burton is good at attacking and getting to the rim on drives. Was somewhat surprised at his poor career assist to turnover ratio of 3.8 to 3.2.
If IU wants him they better be prepared to write a 4 million dollar check he will be one of the biggest names in the portal

@bigmike He's elite at attacking off the dribble. He's just not going to run any sort of movement based offense... he's way too ball dominant. And he isn't overly great defensively. If you had a 6-3, physical, ball and player movement guy to handle the PG duties, and allow Burton to play off the ball... I could get more behind that approach, with him. But I don't think he's going to lead a successful high major team, as the main primary PG.
No thanks on JH - His HS got BETTER when he left for prep school.
@ge-off I'm kind of on the same track with him. Especially since it sounds like he's going to be astronomically expensive. Notre Dame was REALLY bad this past year... spending half your entire budget on Burton and Haralson... while it sounds fun and exciting to get guys with their talent, and Indiana kids at that... the goal is building a winning basketball team... not sure it would be a wise approach.
Agree 100%! I just do not think JH is about winning - more about himself -Maybe he has matured and is a great teammate and leader? Not worth 3-4mil to find out!@ge-off I'm kind of on the same track with him. Especially since it sounds like he's going to be astronomically expensive. He is going to cost 4 million

Jalen Haralson officially announces he'll be entering the portal. He was the very first name on my list when I started this dadgum thing weeks ago. If I were coaching IU (Heaven help us all if that were reality), he would be an absolute top priority for me. Yes, he'll be terribly expensive but if you are going to break the bank (so to speak) for someone, Haralson is a guy I would do it for.
Y'all can certainly have differing opinions than me, that is totally fine. You might end up being right. But if you would not be satisfied with adding Burton or Haralson...there are not going to be any players in the portal that would excite you.
@tjinman1987 Would rather break the bank on big guys personally - they are more difficult to find and land.

Yes and probably close to $8M to get 2 B1G quality bigs which is a must. If a big donor wants to step up go for it. Otherwise probably too expensive.
