There’s a definite malaise out there.  Unfortunately, I think it’s going to be a tough year for basketball fans in Indiana just in general.  Purdue fans will want to fight me about that right now, but I think they’ll see the light by the end of the season.

Purdue will be very good but they don't have the athletes to be elite imo

If IU puts together some wins at the start of the season fans will be back come January and on. Football will be over by then and if the team is playing respectable then fans will pay attention.

If this was 1992 it probably would've been sold out.  But it's not unfortunately.  IUs completely incompetent administration put the program in the coffin and Woodson put the stake through the heart.  DeVries can fix this but it will take time.

30 years of decline will deplete your fanbase and any enthusiasm for a game like this.

For whatever reason, maybe because Kyle Tabor left the lights on in 2008....this year feels like the first true reboot since 1971.

These coaches and players have a clean slate.  No expectations.  No "This is Indiana".  Just a complete start over.

Maybe that will change when we hear William Tell, but I think this group will have to win games to get crowds.

IU fans arent fair weather fans.

We supported Crean after Sampson destroyed the program.

Im sure the place will be rocking in short order. Even if tickets are soft early.

@openwheel Yes, but Crean was a pretty well known name, basketball had not been ruined for two decades at that time, and we didn't have a undefeated Football team as a distraction.

Don't get me wrong though, I'll be watching.
