I was right about Bailey, Conerway, Alexis and Sisley.....
Conerway's pretty average. But we don't need shooting or elite quickness from him.. Just get the ball to DeVries, Wilkerson, Sisley. And 1or 2 times a game drive the lane.
Bailey's game does not translate.
Just seemed like early in the game, IU was called for fouls several times on consecutive possessions. It seemed to get better as the players got more acclimated to the game or the refs were winded from blowing their wistles...
Surprisingly, I believe the points in the paint were fairly even.
@unclemark Tucker is an all American. He’s my favorite player
Really going out on a limb there, Skippy.

He really needs a W after all the previous player predictions.

@hooky bates is going to play in an nba game this year FYI and Leal was atrocious. Mac will also do well this year
After suffering through Woody ball I am going to enjoy the modern DeVries approach to the game. Need to get some of those 4 injured scholarship players back.
@cavanagh I'm good with never hearing Tom Crean ever doing another IU game.
I support your hate. That's why we are fans.
@mushroomgod Other portions of games I've watched were also calling fouls on guys defending drivers. Assembly Call said it's a point of emphasis, so hopefully it returns to it's balance level.

Bates went from a 1st round pick to getting into an NBA game? I guess I haven't been paying attention.

@hooky Also, step one to getting in an NBA game is getting back to the NBA — looks like he’s in Grand Rapids right now in da G League.

Remember when he picked up his dribble on a break right before crossing half court, took a step, and jumped with no idea where he was or what to do with the ball?
I wish I could find that clip.

@hooky you and everyone else said he would never play in the nba.
@hooky I don't mind it, personally. We have to do something to protect Bailey and Alexis on the back line. Our guys will get more comfortable extending and pressuring the ball, without fouling, as the year progresses. What they shouldn't do is back off, right now.
Its refreshing to know we have a coach that understands things like this. If we're struggling with fouls in January/February... that's a little different. But even then, I think extending the defense and pressuring the ball, is essential to our overall success. Even if we foul a bit too much, and give up some things from time to time. It'll also increase possessions, which in most games, will help us more than the opponent.
@cavanagh Seeing what you want. 1) Connor is supposed to be a backup, not his fault we have injuries and you better be glad we have him, because he is a true PG and it can be miserable watching a team not know what do do and cough up leads without one. 2) don't know why you say his D is poor. He's limited athletically for sure, but he is a pest and gets under guys' skin. That's not because he's giving up drives to the lane. Guys can get shots over him sure, but overall he annoys and disrupts out there. 3) I think when Dorn and hopefully Drake or Ristic come back, Connor will return to the bench and his 10-15 mpg, and will continue to help us. 4) Some of his biggest value is in practice going against Connerway and knowing what CDD wants. 5) Don't understand hating on a guy who wears the Cream and Crimson and appears to be buying in and doing what's asked of him. Also our first commitment outside of Tucker. The guy chose to be a Hoosier. Sucks to be dogging him this early, after a game we won against a real opponent by 23. Don't let your need to try and prove you are right make you look like a D of a fan.
