That we had a bad coach, TKR might hurt the most. We’ll find more about Mullins this year. But man, a good four year player is not easy to come by these days.
And I’m not being negative, as I’m very high on what CDD is building but man.,..

This is true. A four year player is not just about having someone with developed experience, but more about someone we witness develop and have shared experiences with. It's what made college basketball so magical.
Not for me. TKR? Strange dude, he is a Boiler at heart. Plus, he didn't choose to be a Hoosier. Look at Sisley, he had options, wanted to play at IU, committed to Mike Freakin' Woodson and then stuck with the school and his commitment. That's a Hoosier! That we had a bad coach, TKR might hurt the most. We’ll find more about Mullins this year. But man, a good four year player is not easy to come by these days.

Plus, this might just be recency bias for you. You're taking TKR over names like Sean May, Gary Harris, Greg Oden and Mike Conley?

I will shout from the mountain top that Carolina giving Montross the bag to go there over IU's no bag offer cost us one, maybe two, National Titles.
@kkott I don’t think he was a Boiler at heart. He was said to be heavily leaning IU until we just fell apart. I am thinking recently in the Archie, Woody era mainly.

One Move Trey? Thats laughable.
Start with Larry Bird and probably 50 other players before getting to One Move Trey.
@scam-likely Oh we had a bad coach when we lost Larry Bird? If you can be an All American with one move, I guess most people would take that. He had 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists against number 8 Alabama last night. That one move must be pretty damn good.
We should be thanking TKR . We might still have Woodson as coach if Trey had made the choice to come here.
I can't blame a player for not committing to Archie at the time. We were bad and it was clear his job was at risk. I can't expect kids to all be like Trent.
I felt the same way when players passed on our Mike Davis teams. I don't have an issue with Mike as a person, he just wasn't a good coach.
But, hopefully we've finally got our guy now in CDD.
he could be an asshole at times.@scam-likely Oh we had a bad coach when we lost Larry Bird? If you can be an All American with one move, I guess most people would take that. He had 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists against number 8 Alabama last night. That one move must be pretty damn good.
Okay so Bird was a bad example but TKR being the biggest miss from a bad coach? No. Cream missed on Kyrie. Hell Smith was a bigger miss.
One Move Trey didn't want to be stuck in the post, he wanted a chance to play at three. Which he claimed Painter offered.
He's playing in the post ... where he has one move.
TKR ... no.
@scam-likely Yep, that was the claim: Painter was going to allow him to play on the floor while IU showed him video of TJD, and he didn't want to play in the post! Still cracks me up whenever I see him play.
Its really hard to tell who all we missed out on, just because of who we had as our coach. Mainly because the coach is nearly always central to the decision making process, so we'd have to know who we would have had instead... Also, I don't think overall talent has been a huge issue, for IU basketball, consistently since RMK arrived. Outside Crean's first couple years, we've had pretty decent talent, nearly every year.
I would say the guys in the 2006 and 2007 classes might be the most obvious examples of elite talent, that we missed out on because of our coaching situation, though.
Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Etwaun Moore, Jujuan Johnson, Robbie Hummel, Luke Harongody... If we had a good coach during that time, and a stable and attractive program to our states top kids, I think we have a chance at a couple of the Baby Boilers, and with Luke Harongody. Not sure if we'd have gotten more in on the Conley/Oden package, or not. But obviously it would have been great to have them for a year.
Outside those years though...and heck, even during those years we got Eric Gordon...but each coach after RMK, got their fair share of 4/5 star kids.
Archie got Romeo and TJD, among a few others. And Woody had a handful of high end guys in his time, either HS guys or portal guys. I do think missing on Mullins will end up hurting, so maybe he's an example of what you're looking for, along with the 06/07 kids.
TKR...maybe...but we had quite a lot of other talent during his time, we just didn't have a coach that had a damn clue how to use them correctly. TKR probably would have done really well in CDD's system. So I guess if Glass had taken a flyer on CDD 5 years ago, maybe having a senior TKR and a freshman Mullins on IU's team right now would look great.

I would say Sean May is #1 on that list.
