This is sickening, given the results we've seen.

Nobody else was even close.

Edit for Clarity - This would overlap with Woodson's last season, not Devries first season.

@middawg I just edited the post in case anyone didn't click the link and read it.

As you clarified, this is about Woodson's last year, not this one.

UK spent 22 million on their roster alone this season. That doesn't include general expenses and other budgets and staff payroll.

From the article...."This data also comes from FY25, or July 1 2024-June 30 2025. That means this data is not from this basketball season. It is from last basketball season, when Florida won the national title."

"The data you’ll see referenced here, and in all future newsletters in this series, comes from the Total Operational Expenses line item from that report. That number includes all the money a school spends on coaching salaries, administrative salaries, scholarships, travel, software, recruiting, and all sorts of other operational expenses. It does not include athlete revenue share payments. The numbers we are talking about here are not the “salary cap” for each team."

It also wouldn't include outside resources like NIL.

Someone's ass needs to be chewed.  That is as inefficient as can be. Shut up and cheer though

The chart shows one of the major reasons why Woodson is gone.

So just means we have a top heavy and bloated athletic department? And Woodson and staff was very well paid?

coaching salaries, administrative salaries, scholarships, travel, software, recruiting, and all sorts of other operational expenses.

3 bucks, under Coach Woodson? Seems efficient. I forgot portal recruiting. But sending a text saying, we will pay you $X million, doesnt seem expensive administratively.

Woodson had a top 20 salary in the nation. LOL

Indiana bringing back a former player with NBA coaching experience was supposed to restore the glory days. Woodson’s got the professional credentials and the emotional connection to IU’s history.

The $4.2 million reflects Indiana’s desperation to regain relevance after years of disappointment. It’s part nostalgia, part pragmatism; they’re betting his NBA background and program knowledge can revive the brand.
