NIL Spending

Did we really spend 10 million dollars on our roster. That is more than Arizona, Uconn, Houston, Michigan State  and Illinois spent? God I hope we did not or that is just a pathetic return

The report I read is that we spent about $10m between NIL and revenue share. So not sure if that is directly comparable to the numbers you posted. Either way, we didn't get much for it.

We certainly spent more than Nebraska and Iowa that much I am pretty sure of.

Overspend and underperform. It's the IU way.

I didn't think revenue sharing kicked in until this coming year. Am I a dumbass once again?

The concerning part is that in my estimation only three players on this past team lived up to their estimated paid value.

Debate me if you will, those three were.

Wilkerson, Alexis, and Enright

And the last 3 or 4 seasons, the total number of paid player overachievers to market is extremely small.

Off the the top of my head.

TJD, Ware, and maybe a Galloway season.

Probably one of those people who's satisfied being on the Bubble every year.

Wilkerson, Alexis, and Enright.  ...

Tucker did, because the market would have bid insane amounts, which was his 'value'. The highest bidder often loses. That was us.

I don't know what Enright made but if it was much, we overpaid. His market value wouldn't have been high. Or maybe it would have been, but shouldn't have been. Not down on him either, but he is one dimensional.

He brought home the bacon against Purdue though! That's worth a million. Next year we should pay only with an incentive plan. So much for regular big ten wins, and multiple times that for beating Purdue.

Yes on Wilkerson and Alexis. One healthy big man to play with and also spell Alexis and we'd have won another game or two and been dancing.
