Im no big dd fan and its why I didnt go all Kool aid after three wins because I saw the illinois and purdue games coming. But tonight the result really surprised me.

@gthomas I'm with you. When a team shoots like IU did in the first half they are normally up 15+ points. Being up by only nine was an omen for what was to happen. You could say Northwestern weathered the storm as they knew IU was not going to continue to shoot the lights out. Kudos to their coaching staff and players for not giving in and continuing to play hard. They deserved to win.
@tjinman1987 As you wrote TJ, "... the pressure on season two just ratcheted up." Miracles can happen but I don't see one coming for IU basketball this season. I have so many good times and memories invested in IU basketball over the years that make it unthinkable to give up on following the Hoosiers. Many mediocre seasons over the last 20+ years have resulted in lowering my expectations for the team. Having said all, when DeVries was hired my anticipation was that IU would get a bid to play in the 68 field NCAA tournament for season one. I'll count the year as another disappointment when the final nail gets driven on tourney selection Sunday.
Carr and DeVries are going to need to create some portal roster magic this coming April. I'm not sure how much time DeVries will be given to fix Indiana basketball.
We got absolutely destroyed on the boards again. It's insane to think you could win in the B1G with no size yet here we are.
@dbmhoosier that may be the most disappointing or disturbing thing. It’s not like NW is a great team on the glass. This was a want to rebound type game and IU didn’t want to rebound.
This wasn’t like Illinois or Purdue where IU is just totally outsized. I think Alexis and Bailey combined for 5 rebounds.
It was disturbing how many boards they had three guys around and we had one, with a couple other guys fading down court.
We just expected to win.

What gets me is we've seen games where we worked our ass off at rebounding, and in those few games we held our own on the glass. I guess it's not so fun, but, want to have fun, or win?
