No worries. IU is a 2nd half team.
A positive is IU held its own on the boards during the first half. Won the rebounding battle 15 to 13 and had 5 offensive boards to only 1 for the Spartans.
Indiana ran some really good stuff on offense and found some rhythm in the final eight minutes, knocking down 4 or 5 threes to stay alive but MSU has 45 points and both Sam Alexis and Reed Bailey already have three fouls. MSU is 7-13 from three, Teng has 12 and Kohler has 14. Indiana is led by Tucker DeVries with 13 and Lamar Wilkerson with a fairly inefficient 10 points.

Not many O boards available when you shoot like MSU has
IU is doing just enough to hang around. They had a chance to close the gap, but just didn't hit shots. 50-41 MSU at the Under 16 MTO
IU had multiple chances to cut into the 8-point lead...a missed corner three by Enright, a missed FT by Alexis, a missed layup by Dorn. Three straight defensive stops to start the half but they only got it down to 7. Kohler then hit a three and Fears scored after another miss down low. IU is down 9, barely hanging on but failing to make the big plays to actually put MSU under pressure.
Hoosiers fighting but are athletically challenged compared to MSU.
This has been a solid eight minutes from IU. The Hoosiers trail 57-50. They had the deficit cut to six points but gave up two offensive rebounds and Teng hit his fifth three to make the Hoosiers pay. Tucker DeVries looked like he got fouled but connected on a turnaround anyway. Can the Hoosiers go on a run to make this interesting?
IU is battling and has closed it to 57-50, but there are going to be some plays they want back. It seems like every time they get some momentum, MSU gets an offensive rebound and a basket.
Indiana cuts it to 5 as Lamar Wilkerson heats up but MSU has had an answer all day...Teng has a career-high 18 with 6 triples and Kohler has abused IU. The Spartans lead is back up to ten points.
Guess they figured defense was optional today…
That was a hilarious replay Bailey running down the court pointing while having no idea fears is right behind him and then goes right around him for a layup. Outstanding awareness.
