McCollum chose the better situation. I'm sorry if that hurts anyone's feelings, but there is nothing special--and I mean ZERO--about IU basketball in 2026.I dont give Dolson as much credit.I think we kicked the tires, yeah.
Said to have had an interview. People said stuff about control.
Anyway, doesnt matter.
,
He was always the backup plan and he knew that. Had we pushed for him we likely would've got him and Iowa would've hired DeVries. Dolson always preferred DeVries for reasons I will never understand.
IU has made two elite coaching hires in the revenue sports over the last fifty years- Knight and Cignetti. Bill Mallory was pretty good given the resource constraints he faced. Hoeppner may have done good things. The rest were God awful.
Now the Homer's on hsn are saying would you really want to watch the iowa style of play day in and out. Boy have they gaslighted themselves.

So now we get to spend the next few years watching Dusty and McCollum and thinking about what might have been.
These guys are delusional. Read this one.

And this might eventually be a bad take, but I'm glad we went high ceiling like I think DeVries has over the high floor approach of McCollum. Don't ever want to watch that Bo Ryan ball at Indiana.
That's the sunshine pumper board. I left that shit hole long ago.

Holy buckets is it. And its all of them too. They would probably run you off if you criticized DD
I feel bad for the team. Getting booed the rest of the year.
I don't they don't play with a lot of heart. For 40 anyway
We need a house cleaning. Complete shit show. I've been calling for it for weeks now. He has no ability to take us where we want to be. I've been calling this out for a while. No way we make the tournament. Our roster is terrible. He chose it he sold it. Personality of a door knob. Zero charisma. He can't lead men into battle and win at his level. Great mid major coach. Cut bait now
It's fairly easy to recognize a player with a mid-major ceiling; it's also fairly easy to recognize a coach with a mid-major ceiling (for example, Archie and this flippin' guy).
Addendum: And don't give me any West Virginia nonsense. That program is P4 in name only.
The biggest thing preventing Indiana being remotely successful is the center position. I want to like Reed Bailey and he has had a few nice stretches of play this season but IU is getting him to the spots that you would want your big to have the ball and he is just unable to finish the play.
But he is not and never was a center. At all. Ever.
The roster construction is awful. Now there are plenty of questions as to why it was constructed so poorly and it's hard not knowing the answers to all of those questions. Lord knows this talent identification had to have been plans c, d and e - or at least better have been. Why, how and was it justified/understandable that it got to plans c, d and e in so many areas are the questions I would love to know the answers to.
Oh, and Tucker DeVries is shockingly bad. Counting on him has almost single handedly destroyed any hope of IU having a decent season. And again leads to questions of evaluation.
To be honest, though, even though I had them down for 17-14 prior to the season it doesn't make it any easier to go through. The level of disgust i have with the basketball program is indescribable. They've f----- around for 30 years with zero urgency because they thought, they *knew*, they were the only game in town. I'm almost happy to see their struggling and the empty seats due to the option of not having to deal with it due to the football team and their competency and success.
I'm so mad at IU basketball I want them to be punished and embarrassed.
Wait till next year. Again. As usual. Thank you for indulging my off-topic rant and letting me get my ya-ya's out.
I wonder if WVU fans are over Coach holding out Tucker last season.

Maybe he will leave on his own after the season. He is clearly in ove head but knowing iu they probably keep him thre years.

I almost guarantee he wishes he had stayed in Morgantown. Honestly that was probably a near perfect spot for him.

Im with you and the guys claiming he will suddenly put some great roster together this spring are delusional. We are seeing what he thought was a good roster. I can't blame any boosters for shifting their money to football iu hoops is a joke
