So disappointing.  Can’t remember a sports team I like going from one I’m genuinely excited about and love watching, to one I genuinely dislike in less than a week.  Maybe Tom Allen’s team after the Covid year?  But even that took a few weeks.  I’ll pay attention to them again when it sounds like it’s worth paying attention to.  CDD? Take him or leave him, at this point.

we'd have to play damn near perfect to compete in games like today

the bigger issue is we have to be able to beat the teams that we aren't so horribly overmatched against

it's going to take playing hard and smart

As someone mentioned earlier, this team just doesn't have that secret sauce ... or any sauce, for that matter.

Nice roster construction, Woody DeVries

Indiana cuts it to ten at 49-39 and IU had Louisville scrambling on offense but a busted assignment leaves Rodgers open and he nails a three to make it 52-39 after five minutes of the second half.

@drjb he had no interest in staying and playing for CDD.  Whatever the reason is for that…is IUs problem right now.  And I’m not even a fan of Malik’s.  But…

1) Elite level big didn’t like CDDs system or pitch.

2) money wasn’t there

3) CDD didn’t want a big like Malik, even though basically every other college coach in the world covets players like him.

no matter the reason, it resulted in guys like Malik and Hansberry playing elsewhere.  And IU looking like a D3 team this last week.

truth

@drjb Yeah, it would have been great watching that foul prone black hole for another season.

he could put the ball thru the hoop

something we sorely are missing

Wilkerson gets a bucket (after a ton of contact that has to be either a foul or a travel) and then Wilkerson hits a triple and it's 52-44. Timeout Cardinals.

@redfan1 no hustle or urgency. Reminds of Woody's guys.

Clearly, they were shocked by the speed and physicality to start the game, which is disappointing.  Starting to adjust a bit, but defensive effort can’t be inconsistent from here on out.

Should’ve broken the bank for Conwell.  That’s the dog we need.

Indiana battled and cut it to 8 but Tucker DeVries left the game with an injury of some sort and the lead has ballooned to 17 with under ten to play.

Two straight games with no fight, no toughness, no pride.  Ominous start to the DeVries era…

Louisville gave up close to 90 to Arkansas… and it sounds like we can’t even run a functioning offense.  Cool.  B10 season is gonna be loads of fun.

If Conerway can’t punish the overplay off the dribble and the pass, this offense is going to struggle mightily against teams that can extend out past the 3 point line.  Hasn’t been there today.

Sad excuse for a team by an average coach
