Indiana vs. Washington 8pm on BTN
Pretty much any path to the Indiana Hoosiers making the NCAA Tournament in Darian DeVries' first season involves IU beating Washington tonight. The Huskies are 49th in KenPom and this projects as a Q2 home game. Given the difficulty of the upcoming schedule for Indiana, this is just a game they really can't afford to drop.
Washington is a good offensive rebounding team and they do have pretty good size. However, their defense leaves quite a bit to desired and the Hoosiers should find success on offense IF they can consistently move the ball and cut/slash off the ball to the basket. If they get stagnant on offense, it could be a long night. IU's long holiday break is over in about 15 minutes and we'll have coverage for you here.
IU is starting Enright, Wilkerson, DeVries, Alexis and Conerway. NBA scouts are paying attention to Washington's Hannes Steinbach and IU fans will recognize Bryson Tucker.
What kind of crowd is there?
@unclemark For a Sunday night Big Ten game? I'd describe it as "light". It's not empty but it's nowhere near raucous and full.
IU opens the game 5/5 from 3.
Goodness gracious. IU is 5-5 from three but Washington has answered the bell and have hit three of their own. We are tied at 15 at the first MTO. Tayton Conerway with 9 and Conor Enright with 6. Desmond Claude with 8 early for the Huskies.
Remember 2 point shots? How quaint.
Maybe we can play some defense, good lord can’t be 5/5 from three and tied
Shooting isn’t sustainable for either team. I’d say IU needs to be better defensively, but a couple’s UWs threes were really tough.
It is Hoops 4 ALS tonight, IU wore special warm up shirts.
Washington is almost playing a triangle and two on defense...they are pretty much ignoring Enright and are sagging way off of Conerway. Those two have taken the shots that are there and knocked them all down.
