Indiana Hoosiers (-6.5) at Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Tip-off: 6pm
TV: FS1
IU is looking to end the skid tonight.
This is, effectively, a "must win" game for IU. The Hoosiers are wearing black uniforms this evening and the storyline pregame is the status of Tayton Conerway. He barely played against Michigan after injuring his ankle against Iowa.
From Fisch…it’s uncertain from warmups whether conerway is going to play
Good start for IU's offense on the road. DeVries has two threes and a nice assist to Alexis, Wilkerson has five points and Dorn has a three. IU leads 15-7 at the first MTO after a free-flowing first 6+ minutes of action.
If I hadnt seen your thread I would have missed more of the game. Was going to check to see if 6, but forgot.
Odd start time on a Friday. If I hadnt seen your thread I would have missed more of the game. Was going to check to see if 6, but forgot.
I know IU is famous for its scoring droughts, but I just don't see Rutgers winning this game.
IU built a 20-9 lead but Rutgers goes into the 2nd MTO with momentum. They get a deep two, a pair of blocks and then a spinning circus layup plus a foul on Trent Sisley. It's 20-13 IU. Rutgers is having a ton of trouble defending basic screen actions from Indiana.
Indiana leads 24-14 at the 3rd MTO. Lamar Wilkerson has 11 points to lead the way.
Looks like we will win the one game over the 8 game stretch we all anticipated we would. Thank the Lord.
A bad pass by Enright leads to Wilkerson getting his second foul but Tucker DeVries gets five straight points and forces an RU timeout.
IU built the lead to 14 points as Tucker DeVries propelled the offense but Rutgers gets a triple after two offensive rebounds and then gets another three-pointer to cut the lead to eight points as IU takes a timeout with 4 minutes left in the 1st half.
I think Rutgers spending all that money last season on those two ball hogs, without results, really set the program back. Can't imagine donors ponying up after that horrid ROI.
