Oh a fan can dream, agree that the team looked a lot like we hoped it would at beginning of yr with 3 shooters making shots but knew it was gonna be tough going against teams that had a lot of height and depth. Just wanna see the boys compete and not get blown out by 20 on our home court
Just care about tomorrow night. Them losing two straight coming coming in to our game doesn't help, at all. I don't think things like that often end up mattering, once the game starts. But IU has shown, more often than not, that for whatever reason they're not ready play early in these big games. Purdue, by way of their recent losses, I'm sure, will be very ready to play from the tip tomorrow night. If we can avoid getting steamrolled early, I like our chances to make a very good game of it. But its hard not to envision them jumping on us early.
You never know in this rivalry game and at home but I agree with IUNorth, Purdue having lost 2 in a row I'm quite certain they will be laser focused tomorrow night. Don't think we catch them off guard.
If we somehow grind out a 3-4 record over our next 7... I think our NCAA tournament hopes will be alive. I believe that would put us at 7-9... with 4 winnable games remaining. If we were to win all 4 of them, 11-9, lock for an at large. If we'd lost to MSU at home, 10-10, we're probably a bubble team.
Hopefully they can play well tomorrow night and get the huge win they've been needing. Assuming they'd continue to play well, that would position them to play themselves comfortably off the bubble.
@hoosiers94 If Conerway is healthy, I kinda doubt he won't start. But maybe Dorn is rounding enough in to shape, that he could bump Enright to the bench to start the game? Though I think against Purdue, its probably best if we have Enrights energy from the start. I'm sure he'll be the one starting on Smith, too.
Cluff might put up a career high tomorrow night. Who's gonna stop him? IU having three front courters with 2+ fouls by halftime wouldn't be surprising.
All that said, I have a sneaky feeling the Hoosiers will beat Purdue and split the LA games.
I’m tired hearing people excuse these results based on the roster construction and lack of talent. An elite coach would have won at least two more games with this team so far than DeVries has. At a minimum.
