@iunorth Hansberry is the guy I was thinking of too, and that would've been a great fit. Like I said, I almost think there was a concern from CDD's end, or sour grapes from Hansberry's, because otherwise it would've made so much sense. Regardless, I think we could've really used a guy in that role for this team. With Harris sidelined, it was pretty concerning yesterday once Alexsis started accumulating fouls. It likely will rear it's head at some point. I know in blowouts, I'd be trying to get some minutes for the big foreign kid we brought in this summer!

@tammany I think the resentment would extend a lot longer and more intensely if Cig left, than you described. Plus, while I think everyone would agree that IU is a step up the bball foodchain from WVU, I also think most would agree, we're not in the elite group anymore. I think people would get over it quicker if Cig left for say, Bama or LSU than a school that has just historically been better than IU in football, like say a , WVU, VA Tech or Pitt. I'm not saying there's any chance of Cig leaving under those circumstances, but that's more akin to what CDD did to WVU in coming to IU.

But, the bottom line is IU acted quickly to lock Cig up. WVU could've given CDD a more lucrative contract that would have made it harder for him to leave, but they didn't. Privately, I've just wondered if the DeVries didn't really like Morgantown. Midwest folks, and the South is just a bit different and sometimes hard to adapt to. I'm guessing Morgantown is more like a southern town than midwestern.

@kkott My point is I don't think we'd get conspiratorial about stuff like WVU.  I think we'd be more resigned and depressed.

But at the end of the day, I guess we'll never know.  😎

@tammany I agree with that. The talk of TD sitting out and the conspiracy about IU having a handshake deal with CDD at the Bahamas was nutty, especially given that he had surgery. Never heard the one about TD and coke.
