And Sammy, you don't think that is Alexis, or you're just saying he's used his eligibility and it will require an appeal/lawsuit/legal action? He'd be a heckuva add at this late date. I think it's a fairly reasonable POV too: the guys a year or 2 older than him got 5 years due to Covid (Galloway, et al) and guys beginning this year get 5 to play 5, so it was only a year or 2 where they took that away. Seems the NCAA caves, or gets beaten in most every lawsuit.

But he was one of our few bright spots last year. Playing with Sherrell he could really be a force. 

@kkott Unless he sues, which I have not heard he has, and wins he's ineligible. The 5 to play 5 rule does not get back dated to players whose eligibility expired last season. For example, if Amare Ferrell wanted to return for a 5th year he could, because he was elibile this year. 

At some point the lawsuits are silly, it's getting real close to that. 

Plus IU doesn't need another big. They need a shooter. Alexis was on the roster because Samet and Sokolov were not able to play in this tournament.

If I am wrong on this, it is what it is. But to my knowledge Alexis is not coming back.

I think we have shooters out the ###.  Frosh can back up there, they lack fear and they're happy to fire away. Can even play perimeter defense. Inside in the big ten is different. I'll take maturity.

@openwheel Sherrell is the other big with Samet. During these games Sisley has slid in for Samet as well. Bottom line is, I highly doubt Sam Alexis comes back to IU for another year.

I'm sure you are right about Alexis.

I just feel we have two bigs, Sherrell and Samet. No backup. And Sherrell didn't want to play as a big, but as a more mobile power forward. Same thing in some ways I know but not a true inside, if he's ranging further out.

So maybe Sisley will be forced into it, and that suits his game I suppose, and he has muscled up. But he also shouldn't have to match up with true bigs, but forwards instead.

Anyway, it's cool, I like our roster. We will be fine. We should be able to rebound with athleticism. We will see. We sure lacked the instinct last year. This year I think more of our guys seem to like to get on the glass.
