@iureactionary Too early to really get excited, or dismissive... Anyone on here have any info on whether or not he's visited IU, or if our staff had been on him hard for 2027? He doesn't answer the B10 Banger void we have, but he's a stud...it'd be great to have him. Sisley, Branch, Moody, Karvala, Dorn, Miles... that's quite a lot of wing talent to work with! Need some PGs and some bigs though.

Manhertz was originally in the 2026 class, reclassed to the 2027 class and is now expected to return to the 2026 class and be a freshman next season. His finalists are IU, Louisville and Duke. The Blue Devils are not believed to have really pushed in this recruitment and I am very confident he'll end up choosing IU.

10 scholarship spots used up, not a ton of experience returning, other than Dorn and Sisley. I think its incredibly unlikely all 10 of those guys will want to return to IU, and then I doubt CDD would want all 10 of them. The latter statement obviously comes off "wrong"... but, I'm sure its the truth.
I'm guessing 4-5 of the current guys that can return, will... and we'll bring in the 3 frosh... and we'll fish in the portal and foreign waters for the remaining 5-6 guys. We'll need a starter level PG, a starter level scorer, and some physical bigs.

IF that was the roster I would not have high hopes to say the least. Other than dorn the rest that roster is unproven or has not played. They need 4-6 legit players out of the portal that have have multiple years of experience. And oh yes several bigs 6'10 or more.
I am guessing they will have to overpay to keep dorn given he is the top returner and will have interest from other schools.
@arioznahoosier4554 CDD said after he was hired that he ideally wants to build up his roster up from High School and that the portal was necessary "this first year." I obviously don't know if he's changed his thinking on that at all but at least based on that early statement he might prefer to minimize transfers and reliance on the portal.
@arioznahoosier4554 Add B10 starter level PG, Wing, and Big, and solid rotational big, to 9 of those 10 guys I mentioned... and that could be a really good basketball team.

Need a starting center, power forward, starting point guard or 2. Need those from the transfer portal unless they plan to repeat the 09-10 season.
I wouldn't be surprised if a HS recruit pulled a McNeeley.
