This thread will be updated with any and all news, updates, opinions, etc. pertaining to high school basketball recruiting. Welcome to the party everyone!

What are we doing here? Am I on? Am I on?
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
@vanpastorman Yessir...I can hear you. Thanks for coming to Hoosier Huddle. As much as possible, Sammy and I (and others on the staff) will be on the boards answering questions and interacting so don't be a stranger!
Do you know of any 2029 class kids on radar. It's early but I know there are feelers out there. Will Tonagel ?
Well DeVries has Moody as his first high school recruit. Any wild guesses on who the 2nd high school signee for the 2026 class might be?
@bigmike I have a guess but I don't think it's too wild: Latrell Allmond.
I will be publishing a 2026 Recruiting Hot Board article no later than tomorrow morning. It's done but I need to get it formatted in the publishing tool so we'll see exactly when it drops.
@hoosiers94 2029? Goodness gracious....in short, no. I have not spent any time looking at 2029 or 2028 kids just yet. Primary focus has been 2026 and I am beginning to look at 2027 options but I'll be honest and say I know nothing about the 2028 or 2029 classes yet. Thanks for the heads up on Tonagel though, I'll see what I can find out.
@tjinman1987 Thanks TJ! Will be looking forward to your info. The high school recruiting game is insane. Numerous offers but ultimately I'd guess DeVries would only sign 3 or 4 high school players from a very large list.
understood. Yeah I thought it was a wild shot. But my son is in same class. Plays with Will's cousin... and has played with Will in a couple of tournaments. And no my son is not on any high recruiting lists either :). Maybe mid major at some point in the next 2-3 years. We shall see
Per 247Sports' Travis Branham, 2026 number one point guard Taylen Kinney has scheduled an official visit to IU in late August. Obviously, that is opening weekend for IUFB so he will probably have an awesome time. I still think Louisville is going to be really hard to beat here but if you get a player on campus, you at least have a shot!
Another live evaluation period is open and it is going to be a very busy one for IU coaches. They are splitting time between multiple locations. The primary ones are Rock Hill and North Augusta. This staff and head coach are putting in the work and it's a time that can really tell you which prospects they are zeroing in on to build the 2026 class while continuing to evaluate and prioritize some 2027 prospects.
Some information from the first couple of days (I am not in attendance and don't want to pretend like I am...honesty is the best policy): as I have written here previously, I am confident IU is the school to beat for Latrell Allmond (top 50 6'8" forward, outstanding prospect). Three coaches (including Darian DeVries) watched Allmond yesterday in a matchup with fellow IU target Arafan Diane. Diane is a gigantic young man and the Hoosiers do have connections that make him a legitimate option to land (along with fellow 2026 center Ethan Taylor).
IU also watched Aiden Derkack and I think it is becoming very likely that he ends up visiting IU. That would make the Hoosiers a contender for him and he'd make a lot of sense in a class that features a center, Prince Alexander-Moody and Latrell Allmond.
I'll keep an eye on who the coaches monitor today but I expect them to grab a look at Anthony Thompson. He was fantastic yesterday in a 102-100 win for Indiana Elite.
