Sounds like the kind of game you'd expect after IU embarrassed the professionals from Serbia less than 48 hours ago and IU is heading home after this game...50-30 Mega leads at the break. Let's see if IU has any of the fight and comeback they showed on Saturday night.
not to change the subject, but since you watched that comeback game:
was the massive turnaround better execution (better effort, fewer errors, improved shooting, etc., etc.), or were “adjustments “ made? I read quite a few posts suggesting that the comeback was proof of our coaching quality and the adjustments they made.
either way, one game, and an exhibition at that. It’s probably premature to read too much into it. On the flip side, glad to see they battled back and didn’t roll over.
@gerdis To be transparent...I did not watch any of the games in Puerto Rico. Hoosier Huddle did not make the trip. We are using as much information as we can glean from highlights, box scores, shot charts and the observations of friendly media members that are allowing us to do (peegs.com first and foremost).
The analysis of others made it clear that IU adjusted the way they were defending and stopped allowing Mega Superbet to lob the ball over their pressure...that created a lot of turnovers and slowed Mega's offense down after the first 15 minutes. Second, DeVries tightened the rotation and played his preferred lineups for a large part of IU's big second half run. Third, guys like Lamar Wilkerson got hot and hit some three-pointers.
The second half is underway and Lamar Wilkerson has nine points after going scoreless in the first half (three FTs and two 3s). IU cuts the deficit to 13 at 52-39.

good info, thanks
Nearing the end of the third quarter...59-46 Mega Superbet keeping IU at bay.
Tayton Conerway has statistically been IU's best player today (and people watching the game have concurred with the numbers)

Trent Sisley knocks down another three off of good ball movement and Jasai Miles got one to fall. IU hanging around but not making it a tight one (yet, anyway) either.
65-52 Mega just before the end of Q3.
Conerway limped off. Doesn’t sound serious, but not great.
Though, a loss could also have benefits. An 'excuse' to not get too high entering the season
Check out my latest at Hoosier Huddle here
IU gets multiple chances as they rebound missed second free throws and get fouled again...end up with a three-point possession and finished the third quarter down 12. A solid 10 minutes there.
The Hoosiers begin the fourth with back-to-back three-point plays and cut the margin to just six at 69-63...Wilkerson and DeVries doing the damage.
Wilkerson has apparently been really good in the second half after going scoreless in the first half. He bags another triple and IU is hanging in there, down 78-71. For those curious...Conerway has been on the bench and the IU coaching staff is seeing how Enright does as the primary ball-handler in this situation. That illustrates how much urgency (or lack thereof) about just winning the game. This is about seeing different guys in different situations. Of course, winning is always preferable to losing if everything else is equal ha.
