This thread will be updated throughout the game. I plan on having an article done tomorrow that will recap the trip as a whole: what are the general takeaways/themes that can be gleaned from these three games when projecting to the regular season? Having this game tip at 11:00 am after a physical and chippy game between these two on Saturday evening is interesting...has a "getaway day" baseball feel to it.
Great! I'll be checking when I can. One of the biggest surprises of these first 2 games is that Trent Sisley has played more total minutes than any other IU player.
According to peegs.com, Nick Dorn got some shots up prior to the game today and as long as everything "stays on schedule", he is expected to be 100% for the season and should battle for a starting role. The tip-off has been delayed a bit.
Hopefully the boys can have another strong win. Let's go Hoosiers! Thanks TJ
Check out my latest at Hoosier Huddle here
Same starters for IU and the Hoosiers begin with a Tayton Conerway alley-oop to Reed Bailey. Mega scores the next seven after that for a 7-2 early lead.
IU down 14-3 and DeVries brings in Sam Alexis and Jasai Miles.
21-5 Mega ahead...another very slow start for IU. Cause for concern? No. Worth pointing out and keeping an eye on when the season begins? Yes.
Conerway with a drive and a bucket out of the timeout and then three-pointers from Enright and Conerway...IU cuts it to 26-13.
Conerway with two free throws and IU ends the first quarter on an 8-0 run to make it 26-15 after one. We'll see if IU can continue the momentum and if others can jump in to help Tayton Conerway after the point guard had a nice first quarter.
The swings in these games are wild.
A few highlights from the fantastic Jeff Rabjohns.

IU cut it to 33-26 behind good plays from Tayton Conerway. But then, according to Jeff Rabjohns, IU gave up an alley-oop in a halfcourt set and then fell asleep for a baseline three-pointer. Darian DeVries lit into Tucker DeVries and Lamar Wilkerson for the lapses and IU now trails again by 18...46-28.
Sounds like the kind of game you'd expect after IU embarrassed the professionals from Serbia less than 48 hours ago and IU is heading home after this game...50-30 Mega leads at the break. Let's see if IU has any of the fight and comeback they showed on Saturday night.
@tammany I've obviously never played in games like these...but I know organized summer event games often take on more of an open gym feel and mindset. Break downs defensively are MUCH more common in summer ball, than what teams would have in the regular season. As much as coaches try, and as much as players try, its human nature to not be as dialed in. And I suspect at this level, that's a pretty fine line, and when teams aren't dialed in, very, very easily exploitable. And against a team like Mega Superbet, that has multiple big, skilled, future NBA level prospects, a couple minutes lapse in energy and focus will lead to 10 - 0, 20-4, type runs.
