I'll put this up early to get some discussion going.
Oh great... we missed a three... here we go...
Just going through my own warmup routine.
Will be nice to get a look at some of these faces. I’m sure I’ll have some strong opinions before night end 😬
Things I'm looking for tonight:
-Consistent effort (Darian DeVries said he expects that every night...I think that's a baseline expectation for IU fans as well)
-three-point rate...it would be great to have the Hoosiers knock down a bunch of triples tonight but the amount of three-pointers they run offense to get and the way they go about getting good looks is more important tonight.
-Defensive positioning and communication...are the Hoosiers giving up easy looks? Are there multiple defensive breakdowns? I expect the defense to be a work in progress and we'll see just how much is needed, at least a first glance at it, tonight.
Let's have some fun, looking forward to this new era beginning!
@tjinman1987 Good bullet points. I want to see who is available to play as well. The comments coming out of media day was that IU would be down some guys until maybe December.
@thehoosierhuddle I know for sure that IU won't have Ristic or Jason Drake and it appears from warmups that, as expected, Nick Dorn will not be playing tonight either.
Starters for IU: Tayton Conerway, Conor Enright, Lamar Wilkerson, Tucker DeVries and Reed Bailey (the same five that started each game in Puerto Rico). That'll probably be the lineup to begin the regular season unless Nick Dorn gets fully healthy and in rhythm and replaces Enright. Let's roll!
