Another walk-on?
Cool, good for him.
@bigmike I enjoyed watching him at Zionsville. Glad he gets to be part of the program.
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
Can someone explain the walk-on rule to me? I thought with the "new" college rules, walk-ons were going to be a thing of the past and rosters would be capped #'s wise. Is that only if you chose to use the entire 15 available scholly's?

Basketball only get 13 scholarships, unless I am behind the times.
@thehoosierhuddle Correct, it's been 13. I thought with the new NIL rules, basketball could go up to 15 scholarships if the program chose to (Football could go up to 100?). I also thought part of that was walk-ons were going away. Most schools were choosing to stay at the old numbers though for financial reasons.
@mtbrider I believe in the B10, maybe all conferences??, if you go over the 13 scholarship limit, you start to forfeit some of the revenue sharing money? Indiana has stated they'll stick at 13, as an intended practice, I believe. Haven't seen or heard anything with regards to walk ons.
Seems like someone on the current roster walk on or not will not be on the team if this kid is.
Did a bit of googling and it seems that walk-ons are still a thing in basketball, although there has been a lot of discussion and confusion around them in the last year. it looks like football was the main sport they were looking to remove them from. Basically, go to 105 scholly's and no more walk-ons or stay at 85 and you can still have them...for now.
Glad to have Snively on the team, good kid and a very good player.
@satisfiedappetite Not sure why you'd think that. If I have a bigger ongoing conern, it's that with the signing of this kid, and the fact that Drake was left back in IN while Dorn came along, and with the signing of this kid, that maybe they're thinking Drake has a longer term injury than first thought. Hopefully there was treatment available in Btown, or maybe he had a Dr visit or something scheduled.
