So we essentially are returning one player. Sisley. That is wild.
If we are on the bubble next year he better be fired. He should be fired for putting this roster together last year. Just the worst talent evaluations and management of resources I have ever seen.
I have zero confidence he will do better this year. About to find out.
Bingo. What a complete bust of a hire. Just the latest in a long line of them. And the NIL isn’t even good. Most incompetent athletics department in the country.

@iugradman Except about 99% of schools would die for our football coach.

Not that I really wanted any of these guys back but so much for the he needs to bring back some of these guys to start building some system and continuity. He is literally now in the same situation as woodson was in year four needing to buy a team to win and win now. The time is now its going to be a brand new roster again and he must win now.
All the guys who really contributed anything were out of eligibility anyway.

That is why it is such horrible roster construction he literally is having to turn the whole roster over again. I look at Michigan and how they manage a roster .
4 returners who played alot
6 recruits coming in
That leaves only 3 spots they have to fill so they can conentrate on studs. Meanwhile we have to bring in 7 or 8 guys again.

Rinse and repeat. It didn't work last year and we get to do it all over again this year.
Maybe just concentrate on spelling Arizona correctlyAll the guys who really contributed anything were out of eligibility anyway.

I just saw this and thought it was pretty funny.
Can already hear "Dorn leaving caught the staff off guard" / " Staff didn't anticipate having 8-9 roster sports to fill" / "Ryan Carr didn't have a full season to get going." as next March's version of "Staff wasn't in place in time" as an excuse for another underachieving year.
I know there is still a lot to play out but I'd be lying if I didn't say a month ago I'd thought I'd feel a lot more optimistic today. We shall see if that changes in the next 10 days or so.

not sure why they want to continue to make excuses for mediocrity. As if they are some adversely affected by the staff being removed. Unless they are plants or bots. How anyone can argue with the incompetence thus far is beyond me. We can all point out things that were better than they were with Bigfoot or Archie etc but that and 3 bucks gets you a cup of coffee. It doesn't take us where we want to be. So why place accolades on lackluster and below par achievements. And then to dive back into full on support and confidence in the guy. When he proves it I'll give him his due.

Retaining those guys doesn't build any culture or make us more likely to win. Dorn was almost certainly told to bounce. His price tag for production in 4 out of 30 games doesn't warrant it.
Yeah, last year's roster was bad so why would they retain it? Sure, this year's could be bad also but wouldn't it make more sense to try and make it better across the board? They could fail at that, certainly, but it seems like the only real path forward as things stand now. They appear to be trying to fill out some foundation from HS for future continuity IF they can actually be successful this year. Have to see if thats possible or not, but losing Dorn and guys who couldn't even get minutes last year doesn't hurt anything for next year.

pretty sure that's not the point. The point is if he had done a better job assembling the roster last year , better chance we aren't in this position again this year. Which seems to be a weakness on his part. Which makes it obvious to launch these players if they are demanding more than their value. It's a tough spot to be in.. our only hope is that Carr has a great eye for talent that translates to college ball.
Well, we knew from the season the assembling of lasts years roster was bad. Doesn't have anything new to do with moving guys out and bringing new ones in. If we are encouraging guys to move on and end up bringing the right guys in, great. We have no idea yet. Other than last year was poor.
I thought we'd retain Ristic and Dorn. I was wrong. But I didn't think they'd be some great players next year. Dorn should've been better, and he played a lot of minutes. So is it his choice leaving, or ours?
Losing Miles is a mark on the coaching staff. They started playing him over Sisley. That was a complete waste of time. Everyone would have rather lost with Sisley on the floor to give him more minutes.
