@doggy1 I watched on the laptop while cooking dinner...and then didn't watch the last 8 minutes while we ate that dinner lol.  It is what it is.

I'm so torn over this group...they're sooo close to actually being good...but damn their deficiencies are just glaring. You just know what's going to happen when they get to really good teams with any sort of inside presence. IMO, with literally 1 true GOOD (not great) inside player they could be a top 15 team and potential sweet 16 team. Either way, I do like our coach and hope this roster mismanagement is a short term isseu.

BTW, good road W!

Any win  is a good one and especially a Big 10 road win. IU played better as the game progressed.  Was nice to see Enright score 16 but Tucker DeVries is struggling with his shot. The team is going to be running the schedule gauntlet. Nebraska, Michigan State, Iowa, Michigan, Rutgers, and then Purdue are the next 6 games. Rutgers is a must win but need to take at least 2 of the other 5.

@bigmike Rough stretch for sure.  Need to beat the "beatable" teams at home, and get the Rutgers win.  Nebraska and Iowa are obviously beatable... I don't think the season is "over" if we don't, but it sure makes the NCAA tournament hill a lot more steep if we were to lose both those games.  Gonna need Tucker to find his stroke to have a chance to beat MSU, Michigan, or even Purdue at home.  He's always been a streaky shooter... gotta hope he finds his shot soon.  He's doing other things well to help the team...but he's gotta score more for us to compete with the top 3-4 teams in the B10, I suspect.

I see we won and I did not watch. Right now I am in all in on football. Archie and Woodson really drained it out of me on IU hoops and even though I am trying I am finding it very very hard to get excited at all about IU hoops right now. Maybe if we beat a few good teams it may get me more interested to watch.

@iunorth Would like to see Tucker get one of those breakout shooting games against a Michigan, Purdue or Michigan State team.

@bigmike We'll beat Purdue if he does.  They're not good enough defensively to stop guys like Wilkerson from getting shots too.  Michigan State, I have a feeling we'll be more competitive with them than most on here expect.  Michigan is a rough matchup...and they're one of the 2-3 best teams in the country... so that game is more about competing and learning, than anything else.

I was able to catch the last 10-12 minutes of the game, so must have only gotten the best part.  I started to read the game thread on here and stopped.  First half must have been maddening to watch.  Is it possible to say that as SamA or Bailey go, so go the Hoosiers?

What would we look like with a big dude who wants to get every rebound in the gym?

Sisley looked good.  Hope we get 3 more years of him.

@hooky I think one or both of Bailey and Alexis playing physical near the rim is obviously a huge help.  But the single biggest thing our guys can do to compete is run CDD's offense how its intended to be run.  Obviously I'm sure they all "know" that... I'm sure CDD is on them, probably every day do it...but for whatever reason, in every single game, there are stretches where they stand, where one of the "Big 3" dribbles a lot, and we end up taking tough shots.  The offense isn't revolutionary...its modern, open, movement and spacing based...but we have a group of guys that are very, very capable of running it well...when we run it.  Beyond frustrating when they don't.  I've thrown out there the excuse that its hard to teach old dogs new tricks.  And I'm sure that's a big part of it... Hopefully they keep buying in, CDD keeps on them, and they keep improving as the year wears on.

When they're moving the ball, keeping their spacing, and reading screens, they're certainly fun to watch.  Can't agree enough that they need to lose the stretches of stand around and watch ball.

@iunorth Alabama scored 16 treys when they played Purdue in Alabama, Purdue still won. The question is not Purdues defense which is rated 15 on Pomeroy (IU is 28), the problem will be stopping the No. 1 offense Purdue has. Their inside game, like Michigan, will give IU fits.

@blimpy IUs defense is markedly better than Alabama's.  I'm not sure Oats even attempts to teach defense.  Not saying Purdue can't, or won't, score well on IU.  Obviously we'll have to contend with Cluff, TKR, etc... and do so without allowing Smith, Loyer, Cox to get open looks.  But I think IU will put up more resistance on that end, than Bama did.

100... they present a lot of problems for a team such as ours.  Bailey will be rendered useless, for one , which seems to be par for the course.
I predict a lot of pain for us in those games this year.
