Does Coach Devries ever say anything particularly compelling?
When first hired he said interesting things about the type of drills he liked, the structure of his practices. But since then there is rarely anything compelling or even particularly intelligent sounding. Just generic things all coaches say. He comes across as a good guy, but would be fun to learn much about whats in his head. He says this year we want to do things like we did before, but different things too. OK, I hope it works.
Wish there was more film of the coaching our guys get. Not a bash, its just that sort of thing is fun for fans, teach us - Basketball According to DeVries. Even the game analysis by other coaches who do vlogs about our Hoosiers seems generic even when saying hes making smart adjustments.
Not that the above meet and greet is where it should happen, but he is hard to get an exciting vibe from.
@openwheel that’s not what these things are about. Fisch gets scripted questions, they play to, the crowd.
Yeah, but snooze in his generic answers to Fischs questions.
Although he started with a good joke about how they added size, then asking Burton to stand.
Devries and guys were fine. I relistened. Its good.
I didnt think Cig was as on as usual in his session though, couldve had the players talk just a bit more.

He never says anything compelling. He very rarely says anything interesting. His ratio of useful information provided to words used is quite low. He is a cardboard cutout of a coach with a low ceiling. I wish we could fast forward through the DeVries era.
Did you see where Tucker D. said he thinks he can be useful to the Pacers because he's not as heavy now as he was during the season due to the weight he had to put on to play outside of his position? Wasn't that something.
To NBA scouts: Hey I was pudgy, but this new me is the real me.
He does look much slimmer, in a interview I saw. Probably the NBA is telling him what fans saw last year, so now he's serious.
I think it would be cool if he made a roster. Or a european league.
