@gthomas ya I mean he makes us a bubble team. Should i celebrate that? Lamar is the only star on this team.  Where would we be without him is the real question. Straight up stud.  If we had a few studs surrounding him we might be getting votes for the top 25.  But we are bubble licious like woody.  Hurray!!!

Not excited about another year on the bubble either, but I think CE has exceeded expectations ... and he might be the only other guy besides LW to do so. On the flip side, your pal Bailey and TD have not met expectations. I'm sorry to all the Mother Tuckers out there, but he ain't worth a mil.

As for Woody, he wouldn't have 10 wins with this roster. Dude needed Top 5 NIL just to be bubbalicious.

@gthomas ya needed tuck to be a stud not a doughboy.   Alexis and Dorn comin on.  TC and tuck playing good would change things.  Bailey needs to be gone faster than Leal.

@cavanagh

I don't think anyone is celebrating a bubble team, but most of us aren't trashing players who are out there due to poor roster construction either.

You're bitching about the 6s and 7s who are putting out because there weren't any 9s and 10s around at closing time.

Feel free to go ahead with the bitter old man insults in your reply.

@hooky what are you talking about 6s and 7s 9s and 10s. We had 10-12 million in NIL (top10-15 money widely reported)and we spent it horridly.  We should be much better than we are and I don’t want to be mid I’m glad you are cool with it if they bust their ass. I’m not.

@cavanagh I agree we should be better than we are with the NIL we have.  I just choose not to trash the players, who had nothing to do with the decisions made regarding roster construction and how the money was spent to build it. That part get's old real quick.

I agree that it's not the players fault that we have the roster we have but when guys are earning 6 or 7 figures to play, they better have some thick enough skin to take a little criticism.

Enright is 17th in the nation in Assist:TO ratio. Imo, he's fighting it out with TD for IU's 2nd most important player.

He is a good little scrapper I changed my tune on him in early December and shifted all hate to Bailey, who is way worse,  and got paid more money.  How’s my take on Bailey?

still stand behind if Conor is starting and playing 30-40 minutes for your team you aren’t good.  He would be great off the bench for a good team he is a starter on a mid team like us.  We have a very low ceiling but he try’s super hard!

30 days ago I would have agreed with you that CE couldn't be a starter on a real good team but now I'm not sure.  The guy has a 4 to 1 A/TO ratio, is shooting 36% on 3s and 80% on FTs.  The last # is an important stat as its about 10% higher than his career #. He also works his ass off on D.  He's a lot better there than Conerway, who had a reputation of being a good defensive pg.

@hooky he’s almost as old as you and gets paid more than you ever have by like 5 times.  He’s a grown ass man. This is a business that i pay for.  I’ll talk about it how i choose just like every other aspect of my life i pay for.  I understand you don’t spend any money on it so maybe you feel they get a pass.  So you do you and I’ll do me.

@mushroomgod Connerway has been miserable and playing way under his ceiling.  CE is bursting through the potential roof, good on him.  Still doesn’t shoot enough ?other teams leave him wide open) to be a good teams PG.

Let's talk about this a little.  I'll first stipulate that I know very little about NIL so this post may be all bs.  But....I find it hard to believe that we paid out $10M to this roster...

Are the following #s (based on what we thought about these guys coming in) out of line?

--$2M to TD

--$2M to Wilkerson

--$1M to Bailey

--$700,000 to Conerway

--$300,000 to Alexis

--$300,000 to Dorn

--$250,000 to CE

--$200,000 to Miles

--$200,000 to Harris

--$200,000 to Sisley

--$250,000 to the 3 guys who've not played

Those #s total $7.4M....who am I shorting?

For comparison's sake, there were the 247 transfer ratings for our portal recruits last year:

--DeVries---#18

--Wilkerson---#45

--Bailey---#63

--Miles---#96

--Dorn---#102

--Conerway---#105

--Harris---#160

--Enright---#198

--Alexis---NR

I think the general feeling among IU fans who were following it at the time was that Wilkerson and Conerway were rated too low, and that Miles was rated a little too high.  Also, some thought Dorn might have been rated too low.  I think everybody looked upon Enright as a back-up pg, but the guy did have the 6th highest assist rate in the country so that rating looked very low at the time.  For some reason Alexis wasn't even ranked, but I think most people looked at him as a 20 minute guy here.

I'd forgotten that you were a financial titan pulling NIL strings in addition to having such a keen eye for talent.  My bad.  I'll slink back into my cave and watch all of Bates' NBA highlights from this first half of his rookie season and hope I can get over this sick burn.

bates is hurt and has an nba contract. And yes I did give more money to NIL than you make in a calendar year.  These are just facts not burns.

@mushroomgod Connerway is over a million. TD And Lamar more like 2.5-3.  Most of the others are 500k or more.  Hell we gave Leal 400k last year.  I’d assume almost everyone is 500 or more.
