@surjay Fight for "scrapes." Maybe I'm being a language snob, but if you can't spell "scraps," you have no credibility.

Spell check let George down. Laughing Out Loud

I got a question. Do we as fans trust this guy IU hired to help DD find guys in the portal? I don't even know his name, but do we trust him?

Hell yeah. Or at least he is as good as we realistically should have done.

Carr has been helping evaluate - which of these guys might be able to play well in the NBA - for a long time. As an assistant with the Pacers. And help fit in a salary cap too. And as an IU grad he loves the Hoosiers.

Whats not to trust? Maybe I dont understand the question? DeVries talked with him for months before the hire, so they should work well together. I think we did as good or better than most teams with our GM hire. Proof needs to be the pudding of course.

It must be nice to root for a program like Louisville that is willing to commit serious resources to winning. Pat Kelsey is another coach who was available in 2024.

I listened to the first few minutes of CDD's PC.  I was distracted by his frequent use of the phrase "you know", so I listened very closely to a replay of his first answer.  14 "you knows" in an answer slightly less than 1 minute long.  I made it through answer #3 and noticed a definite pattern.  He makes it through the first 10-15 seconds of an answer, throws in a 'you know' or two, then starts machine-gunning them toward the end of an answer.  He is also cross-eyed.

He never says anything of substance.  All bs coach-speak.  But it is interesting that the cross-eyed you-knower dissed Carr.  He talked about Carr's contributions about the same way he talked about those of Acimovic & Ristic.  Not a good sign.

DeVries said "Ryan was certainly helpful" at the start of his comment. Didn't diss Carr at all.  But then said it was a complete staff effort because with Carr coming on just a few weeks before the portal opened the staff still leaned on past relationships with the players and coaches. Touted his incoming frosh, which obviously Carr had little to do with. Possibly helping make sure they signed. Nothing wrong with touting his staff.

You can take a few weeks off how long a leash he gets, due to being cross-eyed. 🙄

@openwheel He didn't diss Ryan Carr, but he certainly didn't give a glowing endorsement either.

I have to reply to the previous page.

I think even making any deal about that is rather ridiculous. LOL

He said Carr was helpful. End of story. Nobody pursued it any further...

Hey Coach, does Ryan Carrs ass smell like roses when you are working closely together?

@openwheel I did too. It should reset when it gets to a new page. I just wanted a better answer than yeah, he was helpful. What did the process and work with him look like? Stuff like that. It's not a big deal.

I get that.

But Coach has been hammered for a season about being a dumbass for roster construction. When there were probably a lot of factors.

I dont blame him for feeling the staff was already preparing for this portal. - Whew, yeah, without Ryan ... - When on this board people were saying they shouldve hired Carr sooner to get more help this year.

Coach seemed honest, yeah hes been helpful. Even if he did need prompted.

@openwheel Good points. Plus, the staff had a bunch of connections to the players in the portal.

He doesn’t need to kiss Carr’s butt either.

Really had no place to put this so I thought I'd throw it in here.....

Jacob Goins of the "Locked on Hoosiers" podcast is just such a gigantic tool....

I ran across a old post where he was talking about us getting Acimovic from Bosnia....called him an incredible foreign player.....just went on and on with the BS.....

He always over-hypes everything in such a disgusting way.......That is all.....

(Apparently we've reached the 20 page limit on replying to posts. So replying to a previous page.)

Yeah I haven't clicked on any of the stupid clickbait from that fool for at least 6 months. And I try to avoid any of their related team sites. Total clickbait garbage.  I am cool with needing to make money, but not just throwing anything on a wall to see what sticks.
