That opening line really did make me LOL . 🤣

I guess we will see. At least one more year, almost certainly at least two more if next year is an improvement.

Can't cut it any other way but this was a very bad season. Couldn't make the 68 team NCAA tournament with a senior dominated team or finish in the top half of the league. The last 6 or 7 games in particular were played with little pride, passion or purpose. There are more questions than answers going into next year.

you REALLY try hard to find a silver lining don't you. I commend you for that.  But this situation isn't going to get better. We may land some better players but it's what he does with them .. we might make the Dance with better players but his ceiling is the problem.  Even with better players he's not taking us to the top of the rankings.

You might be right. There are a lot of indicators of that. But with what it would cost to replace him now, we will try again with a better roster. If we have a better roster (athletically, and the right mix of skills and attributes needed to compete in the B1G) and we are still inconsistent, unmotivated, and unable to respond to runs and in-game adjustments by the opponent---or we don't have a better roster despite hiring Carr and the obvious need to improve in this area---then Dolson will need to admit that he was fooled and start looking. Top third finish in the conference and comfortably in the tournament would be my minimum, and should be the minimum expectation for IU Basketball every year.

Devries gets a "Did not meet expectations" performance review this year, and is now on a performance improvement plan.

@gthomas There was nothing else established. No foundation, no standard. Do we know if DeVries can coach? No, because he had vastly inferior talent.

He gets a year two, but to say we learned anything about a foundation is grasping at straws.

I learned he couldn't put together a roster and had no clue how to counter opponents' adjustments.

@ams66 Dolson wasn’t fooled. He is the fool.

@gthomas Ok. He’s still getting year two and we’ve been harder on him than just about anyone.

That's still a lot of $ for not many wins.

@arioznahoosier4554 I think Bob Kravitz is right.

@arioznahoosier4554 Indeed, and I'd love to be wrong. But I think Devries is probably a nice guy but a mediocre coach at best. Definitely not a great coach in any way. If we're starting over yet again, I wish we'd do it Now.
