Read he is playing on the U20 Fiba here in July. Guessing the games will be on YouTube like the U19 were.
Would be good if that wraps in time for him to join the team in Puerto Rico.

IU officially added him with a press release yesterday but he committed a bit ago. Ristic is not expected to be a significant contributor as a freshman but he's a promising player. It's always difficult to try and figure out where a guy like this would be ranked if he was a traditional high school prospect but I'd peg him somewhere around 140-150 in the class. He's a good perimeter shooter and is fairly adept at driving into the lane and creating shots for others. Ristic has, to my eyes, a pretty good frame and he could be a really good-sized off-ball guard in college. I don't think he'll be able to relied on as a defender in 2025-2026 but this addition makes quite a bit of sense from a roster construction standpoint.
So far, the reviews about the Israeli kid PU signed have been stellar. You have to give MP credit for identifying talent. Edey was the prime example, but he hit homeruns with many guys, including Braden. That kid they have for next year still amazes me. Watched him at the AAU thing in Rock Hill last year and he looked awful. Totally flustered and guessing he had 7-8 TOs. I don't know if I said it out loud, but I at least thought there's no way this guy is replacing Braden. Fast forward and he had like 35 vs Braylon Mullins and eliminated him and has had many good showings and I think is now around 65 in his class? Never would've believed it.
@kkott You are referring to Ertel...he'll be a good one, yes. The easiest comparison is that he'll be a better version of Fletcher Loyer.
The Israeli kid is Omer Mayer and he was a standout at FIBA U19. He's the youngest player ever to score the senior team for Maccabi Tel-Aviv and won't be intimidated at all playing in the Big Ten. Mayer is a terrific offensive talent and I'd be surprised if he was in West Lafayette beyond two seasons (because he'll head to the NBA, not because he realizes he has made a horrible mistake and needs to bolt). Matt Painter is great but the credit for this one goes to former PU player Trevion Williams. Williams played for the club team, saw Mayer play, told Painter and the staff about him and then kept plugging Purdue to him. I think Purdue could have some defensive issues and Mayer won't help that but they will be able to score at a really, really high clip.
@tjinman1987 I am not a PU fan because I want IU to beat up on them. But I do have a great respect for Coach Painter. He runs a good program. He develops kids. What is there not to like?
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon

Oof. Not good!!! I’m surprised too.

Cheated on his wife and got divorced.
As a coach he is fine… doesn’t seem notably good or bad compared to other coaches.
He’s a very good coach unfortunately.
Watched on YouTube the first quarter Ristic play against Iceland in Fiba.
Just under 5 min left they ran an action for him where he gets a strong take to the rim.
@tjinman1987 Ertel is a lot better than even the Purdue staff thought he'd be at this point. I happen to know that. I'm cursed with closer PU contacts than really any other program. Barf... But they did see more in him than most high major staffs did.
@iunorth we really need to get our sh1t together over the next 12 months. PU is executing better than I thought they would post-Edey.
