@hoosiers94 I say who because I want to know who this sure-fire replacement is thats going to have NIL flooding in, is available, and wants to come here. The reason you all can't give names is because this person doesn't exist.
The notion that we fire a coach after 12 games and will have anybody willing to come here is preposterous. Its not happening.
We'll have to put up with 87 3FG attempts per game until at least 2029.
I do feel a bit bad, though, that a first-year coach at a (former) Blue Blood is being completely overshadowed by Cig. Basketball was the only game in town for the last 50 years, but now I hear nary a whisper about IU hoops. Cig has spoiled us and we know what's possible with the right hire. Hence, DD will be on a very short leash with fans.
"The Carnegie Hall of uninspired basketball" is more apropos.

It would have to be a coach with baggage like Beard and that's never happening unfortunately.
Super Chris Beard is #59 in KenPom right now, and down 20 at half to NC St. Not sure he would be the solution.

and that's exactly our problem. We are scared shitless
@dbmhoosier Beard's stinking it up at Ole Miss this year.
put some perspective on it. Where was ole Miss before he got there.

He's a great coach. Their NIL is likely abysmal.
@hoosiers94 we keep hearing about Cig turning things around immediately so all coaches should be able to do such. Interesting that Beard is allowed excuses now that he's not doing so well.
I’ll never forgive IU for burning a bridge with Dusty. That was the final nail in the coffin for the program. That and Dolson locking in on DeVries early and not going after other candidates.
@dbmhoosier No, their NIL is actually quite strong. No excuses.
and Devries was stellar prior to coming to Bloomington. And comparing ole Miss and their resources etc for basketball to IU isn't close at all

The Grove Collective does a good job. He’s got a NIL budget that’s top-5 in the SEC. Not abysmal.
Beard had Texas Tech in the national title game. He had them in the Elite 8 the year before that. Last season he took Ole Miss to the Sweet 16. Not sure what more evidence you need.
Those TTU seasons were a while ago, and a different CBB era. His last six or seven seasons have been just okay, and right now with a healthy NIL budget he is struggling.
He doesn’t seem like the answer.
