Ajani, #72, is a big man! How did he play? What I saw made me excited for our future.

And how did Michalski do? (Or at least they said he was getting snaps. I dont see him in the highlights Im watching)

Our OL struggled a bit today.  We are a bit of a triage ward right now.  Benson appears to come off limping every game.  Ajani played because Evans is out.  Michalski has also been hobbled but played.  Drew Evans is a cut above but he may not return for a few games.  This Penn State line is very good.  They probably played as well today as they did all year.  And, they have talent all over the defense.  You can fire your coach but the personnel is still there.  We got very little pressure on their QB and we needed to make him much more uncomfortable. I wish we had blitzed a bit more.

@big-red-cb-v-2-0 I thought we played pretty conservative today.

I am pretty sure that we were trying to stop the run. Those guys were good enough for us to have to focus on the running game which does not leave much room for blitzing.

Good thoughts.

I do think we tried to stop the run a bit more then we usually do, making the freshman qb beat us, which was IMO, the correct move.

They've got two really good backs.  They might be the best tandem we see all year.  We couldn't let them break any big ones.  They got a few, but could have had more.

Thinking we need to be more willing and flexible taking explosive deep shots on 2nd down and 5,4,3,2,1.

In the first half especially, felt like several second and shorts where we went conservative when we could have really loosened up the Penn St. D and looked for an explosive play on a 4 or 5 wide deep ball.

I get staying on schedule and churning out first downs is our offensive DNA.

Opposing teams might be on to us regarding the rhythm of that sort of play calling though.
