The media, and most of our fan base, is automatically counting losses at Oregon and at Penn State.
Indiana is good enough to win both of those games.
I can guarantee you Cignetti thinks he can win at both places.
Never know until games are played. IU fans have a history of being disappointed after getting their hopes up. I doubt Cigs is counting any game as a loss.
Bulletin board.
Fortunately we know the team’s mentality will be right.
Here's what grinds my gears.
The lazy media statement I've heard a handful of times this off season that IUs offensive line was "dominated" by the Ohio St. D line last season.
IUs pass blocking was dominated, yes, not a good day.
IUs rush blocking and yards gained by our RBs was tops against the very good Ohio St. defense all season.
It was my opinion after the game that 300 plus rushing yards were on the table, if IU had committed to the run game earlier and that ridiculous false start wasn't called on our TE to derail that early drive.
Hence, the O-line getting "dominated" is such an incomplete and at least partially false and lazy narrative that I despise.

IU has chances at both places. Oregon is replacing a ton and lost their best receiver.
PSU is coming off the OSU game.
its not impossible, but it was one thought

OSU timed up IU’s snap count and that made IU’s OLine horrible. However OSU’s DLine made a lot of teams look bad.
Oregon lost a lot to the NFL and PSU lost their main go-to player in Warren last year! I can see both teams regress a little bit. Both will still be tough competitive games, but IU has a good chance against both!

Nearly all media and every fan base, except maybe 3-5 schools every year. look at schedules and realistically judge them and extrapolate results.
Winning on the road is hard.
Winning against teams with better talent than you is hard.
Those games happen to include both of those facts. Hence, it's completely understandable to forecast 10-2, even if you grant that anything is possible on any given day.
First things first: I follow IU very closely. I rarely watch college football games on TV unless IU is playing. I don't follow other teams. Long way of saying I'm no expert on college football.
However, I am quite confident in saying as long as James Franklin is the head coach, Penn St. will be overrated. He does a great job recruiting but always gets beat by a top notch team. He also certainbly has lost games PSU should win.
I think they win on talent; not gameplan. In any coaching matchup between Cig and Franklin; I believe wholeheartedly Cig is the better coach.
Speaking of stuff that pisses us off, the SEC had Netflix do a promotional documentary on the SEC. The level of SEC self-promotion is nauseating.

@tammany The Big Ten has their own network too and the ability to produce great stuff, but they don’t do it often enough
I’m with you on this. Let’s watch IU shock the world once again!

Yea. I'm glad Pettiti is more normal/reserved/professional than the clown the Sankey is, but it seems the B1G does need to market and hype itself a little more than it does.
@tammany there’s definitely a difference between a propaganda film and putting out current football stuff instead of seeing a replay of a game for the 400th time
