IU is in the battle for Webb. I would also not discount Purdue there.
I think Webb chooses either FSU or Purdue, with my guess being Purdue.

Looks like the 4th came and went for this kid with no big announcement. 2 weeks ago he pretty much said it was down to FSU and Purdue. Now, he hasn’t committed after an X post stating the big day was 7/4. I wonder if the FSU offer is a commitable offer? Maybe it is but he spent time down there in Tallahassee and no word. You would think if there were firm offers from both, he’d have selected either FSU or Purdue.
Imagine having to pick between two programs that won a combined three games…
Cortez Redding.....his final four OVs were NC State, Miami, Indiana, and Ole Miss. After doing some research I think it is going to be a stretch for anyone but NC State to land this kid. He talks of a strong relationship he has with coach Charlton Warren, the Wolfpack safeties coach, same coach who in 2021 was coaching at Indiana. Bonus Coach Warren and Cortez's mom went to high school together way back when. Its has been reported that she too feels very comfortable with Coach Warren. I feel this ship has sailed but we shall see. He is the # 25 safety so he is a big get.

Katrell Webb....had OVs at Stanford 5/16, Purdue 5/30, IU 6/6, Ole Miss 6/13, and FSU 6/15. According to his X Page his top 3 are FSU, IU, and PU. IU maybe the least attractive team because we have a roster of 10 Edge rushers where FSU & PU only show 7 Edge each, so less competition but players of is caliber usually are not turned away by competition. It's been a long time since his OV at Purdue. FSU just missed to a 4-star egde this weekend , and they were 2-10 last season , so maybe not as attractive as in past years. I think we are still in this fight with a big new push from FSU.

Something would have to change drastically for him to pick IU.
I think IU probably backed off of him around 2 weeks ago. I think he’s probably Purdue bound but was waiting to see if FSU had a committable offer. Now with Johnson committing to IU and ranked much higher, not entirely sure if Webb was a take. Maybe he was but I think it came down to 3 schools with IU backing off a bit recently. As of probably the end of June, IU had moved on to pursuing others.
@big-red-cb-v-2-0 with Johnson committing yesterday, Webb is probably out. IU picked up Walker Bryson on the 4th and Ronelle Johnson yesterday. The class sits at 22, which is close to a full class for HS
I'm softening my stance on Webb not joining the class. I still think he's a long shot at best, but I do see a path where he could be apart of the class if things fell just right.
We'll see.
I'm surprised Indiana is still interested in Webb with their DL commitments. I'm still hoping for Guiliford, WR out of Ft. Wayne.
My prediction is that our next commit will be in the 2027 class.
Nick Reddish (Indiana target, CB) is announcing this Friday. Others are ND, Wisc. & VaTech. My guess is ND.
