
They actually moved IU up 6 spots. This ranking still accounts for some of the Tom Allen era. It’s a big reason why IU was ranked #77 in the FPI before last season.
Why not just rank the SEC, then start ranking everybody else on down from there?
I rarely look or even use FPI. It's adjusted every week. It's a flawed metric created by ESPN so I can't take it as gospel.
Agree, I'm just complaining about ESPN.
@tammany I know, I was just reiterating it. SP+ used to be really good, but I think the portal really messed up their algorithm (not the only victim). I am not a data analyst by trade, but having worked with a ton of data in schools and sports, it would seem there are too many new variables that are constantly changing to get a really good "rating system" anymore

I believe I saw in comments below that tweet that several SEC schools moved down in the new rankings. I've heard no reasoning for why new rankings were done when almost nothing has changed since the last ones.
