@evanalvarez8 Gotcha. Well, here's to hoping over the next 20 years your list get's overwritten and updated with more championship moments. I think I've seen 2 soccer F4s and a NC in there and those were great. I've seen IU bball down in the Carolinas about 7-8 times, and seen many more losses than wins, but I've always known Hoosiers travel well. But, having said that, seeing the turnout throughout these playoffs was other-wordly!
2001 grad, so, very clear top 3:
1. Last night
2. Kirk Haston (we were courtside)
3. IU/Duke (was on campus for the game/celebration, yes I was on the mermaid)
After that, 4-5 and beyond could be any collection of great games I was at, or it could just be some of my favorite moments from this season, like PSU or the B1G title. Honorable mention to the Wat Shot.
I was in the balcony for that MSU game.
I was one of the first students on the court for the pile-up. We had good seats just a couple of rows up behind the MSU basket, so we had a great view of the shot across the court. One of the things I distinctly remember was this: during the last timeout, the lead usher walked along talking to the kids whose job it was to hold up the nylon rope keeping us off the court, and said, "I don't want anyone getting hurt. If they win this game, drop the rope and get out of the way."
Another thing I distinctly remember, which is a weird one, was this girl in the row in front of us had a tiny pet snake - not rubber, live - wrapped around her neck. I often wonder if that poor snake made it out of there alive.
Lol. That's crazy about the snake.
The thing I remember was that last play was obviously not run for Haston. Hornsby was coming off a pin-down but MSU read it well so Haston just fired away.
@goat I'm not sure how the joke goes, but I'll bet the punchline is: "Sure, you can pet my snake!"
Seeing some of these lists makes me sad some of you didn’t get to experience Bob Knight basketball. Preparation, execution, roster construction. Picture these two years of Cig football and realize it lasted 25+ years
1. 2026 IUFB. I don’t think anything will top it.
2. 1987 IUBB. Between student tickets & the chance to attend the 1st/2nd Round & the Regional, I’ve lots of memories.
3. 1987 IU/Michigan. For the entirety of the game, Memorial Stadium has never been louder.
4. 2007 Bucket Game. Whenever I see the replay, I still get chills after Austin Starr’s kick.
5. 1993 IU/MSU Game. A personal favorite remembered in my circle of friends. The visual of the students pelting the MSU bench with snowballs the entirety of the game is etched in my mind. The postgame tailgate got legendary status. When we wrapped up, we were literally the only people left in any of the parking lots.
I don't really have a top five. We haven't won enough in my lifetime.
I remember Isiah Thomas leading us to victory in 1981. That was cool, I was still a teenager.
1987 topped it. Keith Smart's shot and his great playing plus a couple big 3s by Alford getting us back into it. The two other plays besides 'the shot' at the end I remember are being down about 7 and Alford pulls up for 3 on a break, from well outside his usual range, but before the defender could pick him up. *swish* . And then Smart playing lights out but a little bunny he shot when were within 3 or4 with maybe 2 minutes left, he shot from the side maybe 6 feet out and it went skip-skip across both sides of the rim and didn't fall. I thought we were going to lose, right then. Nope!
Ricky Calloway put back rebound sneaking inside for it from out of nowhere against Kansas in the tournament was huge.
The missed free throw by Duke trying to complete the four point play, and we held on to win. Awesome.
The Wat shot. Very cool win.
Bill Mallory. We had some good teams.
Oh edit, newest: Mendoza run for the TD. Jamari's interception. HOOSIERS!

Calloway’s putback was against LSU, no?

Calloway’s putback was against LSU, no?
Yes. LOL I was not even remembering the right year, we didnt play them, it was LSU. TY! I will edit that.
1967 Indiana v. Purdue. Purdue highly ranked, Indiana win means Rose Bowl ( Back when Rose Bowl really was the premier post season game).
I don't think I was old enough to really fully appreciate 87'... so...
1. Monday Night
2. Wat Shot
3. Duke Sweet 16 game
4. B10 Football championship game this year
5. Nebraska football game last year
I can't think of a singular game, or moment, from the Bailey/Cheaney years... maybe the win in Ann Arbor... those are more cumulative great memories, I think.
