Check out my latest at Hoosier Huddle here
Fernando just absolutely hoovering up the #1 spot on all our lists these days.
Going to take a real insane season to ever surpass him, probably.
I made a post earlier about this because the article post wasn't up yet. 3 guys from this list I think would have thrived under Cig and staff are Casey, McFadden, and Mullen. Especially McFadden. Curious what players from the past decade not on this list y'all think would thrive under the current staff.
@812jmac I think Jamar Johnson would've been phenomenal in Haines' defense. Absolute ballhawk. The crowd pop in his pick six in the G***r B**l was electric.
Skimmed through the rosters I could find:
Penix would have probably developed a lot better, and had a better O-line.
Add the sprinkling of O-linemen that were able to make it to the pros during that time to the list.
Cam Jones is another name that stands out.
Maybe there would have been a few surprises? The culture and expectation shift also begs the rhetorical question, who would have never been a Hoosier on those teams? Given the number of transfers after Cig came on the scene...
If we group by 2 years at a time, the guy I remember the most from this awesome team is D'Angelo Ponds.
Ponds is my most beloved, then Aiden, then Mendoza.
I must be a minority, but I thought Whop Philyor was overrated. Not that he wasn't good.

I will never forget in 2017 I scored a sideline pass for the Northwestern game. The first play I saw up close right in front of me was a sideline pass to Whop. He was really fast and then when he went up for the ball he got absolutely tagged by 2 NW defenders. I mean a real slobber knocker. Whop got up a little wobbly but went right back in. Had a lot of respect for the kid after that.If we group by 2 years at a time, the guy I remember the most from this awesome team is D'Angelo Ponds.
