@zekeus Last season was fantastic, but I was waiting for the other shoe to drop ... and it did in Columbus and South Bend. As I've said before, I think the ceiling for 2024 IU was the CFP.

This season, however, is different: IU is one of the three best teams in the nation (OSU, A&M), and they can beat anyone. I don't know if the Hoosiers will be carrying the B1G and/or National Championship trophies, but the other shoe is staying put this time. If they lose, it will be because an excellent team played well and beat them, not because they're overmatched at certain positions like last season.

@zeke4ahs For years, October meant gearing up for basketball season ... but not last year or this year (or next year...). While nothing can take away Hoosier basketball tradition, one could argue IU is indeed a football school right now. I mean, football has enjoyed more success in the last 1.5 years than hoops has had in ... forever.

Yeah. When was the last time the baskerball team was ranked as high as this football team? 2012-2013?

Doesn't seem so bad, until remembering sweet 16 was as far as we ever got, and Indiana expects (or did decades ago) deep tourney runs. Still, too bad Crean flamed out, he had a couple teams. The coaches after him were worse.
