It doesn’t necessarily mean it will eliminate a team like 2024 IU as IU dominated their schedule which is supported by bullet 1 below. I think 2024 ND has at least as high risk of exclusion based on the criteria in bullet 5. This seems to be a way of saying there is a change without really making a change because I’m not sure these metrics change last year’s outcome because both Ole Miss and Alabama would be penalized for losing to weaker competition. It just depends on what the measurement of each is weighted. Sec fans will always complain about exclusion if the criteria doesn’t support their entry of all bowl eligible teams.

Not sure this is much of a change. They added a SoS metric, but it’s not like the committee wasn’t considering SoS last year.
We’re in a P2 conference, I’m not worried about our SoS.
@olympian97 it’s similar to SOR which IU was top 10. Just funny how the SOS metric is being pushed this hard. If you are tied for second in a P4 league you should be in.
@d-b-cooper Yep. Got to factor in things like margin of victory. We had a lot of that last year.
SOS was already baked into the selection process lol But as long as they don't use ESPN's (SECs) SOS metric 
To be clear, they are adding strength of RECORD not strength of schedule.

IU had a very strong SOR last season. Zach Osterman has a good article about it and how IU needs to defend themselves on this because no one else is.

FYI it’s being reported the SEC will move to 9 games. If you are a betting man you might bet an SEC/B1G cross conference games.
