The Daily Hoosier has snap counts for each game on offense & defense......IU site only has games played. Is anyone aware of a free site for cumulative totals?
Looking at some trends for the contested and backup defensive positions.....
--Savage seems to be taking over for Turner & Utzinger for the 3rd LB position....19 snaps v. Nebraska after having only 29 through Rutgers. I don't know that I've seen any mention of Savage in the Nebraska game, but he had 2 high profile plays I can recall.....a pass defense near the goal line that the Nebby fans wanted called as a PI, but looked like pretty good D to me, and an impressive flying TFL on a sweep play. Turner had 6 snaps v. RU, Utzinger 1. Neither played v. Nebraska.
--Is Gandy completely out of the picture? 2 snaps v. RU, 0 v. Nebraska, after 156 in the first 4 games. Has he been injured?
--Smythe seems to be replacing McHaney as backup DT.....8 snaps v. RU, 25 v. Nebraska. McHaney had 45 through the first 4 games, 3 v. RU, 0 v. Neb.
--Ndukwe---Has been hurt. I hope to see more of him now. 2 snaps v. Nebraska.
--Obiazor--81 snaps through the first 4 games, 12 v. RU, 4 v. Nebraska
--Hjelle continues to get snaps--22 v. RU, 28 v. Nebraska
--Same for Sanks....18 v. RU, 16 v. Nebraska....is he playing some at both Rover & SS?
--Burnham's use is steady....16 v. RU, 25 v. Nebraska
--Bell v. Harris is going to be interesting. Bell with 53 snaps v. RU, 58 v. Nebraska. Harris with 25 snaps v. Nebraska.
--Baldwin continues to get more snaps as the year progresses.....41 v. RU, 54 v. Nebraska...217 for the year (Jones & Ferrell lead with 354)
