While season ticket sales are up about 50%, there are still plenty of tickets available to all games.  We’ll see how fast these get bought up.

50% is just amazing.   Sales had to go up, but 50% OMG.

@irregulars Yea.  Up from low 20K’s to mid-30K season tickets sold.

Got to keep selling more though.  IMO we need to continue getting Indy alumni engaged and accustomed to going down to Bloomington for Saturday college football.

@tammany I agree. It is so much easier now with I69 completed. It should be a no brainer. Turns out that road was timed perfectly for Cig to enter.

@walt542 I-69 is great.  So much easier.

IU should keep adding easy parking, which I think they might be. Make the whole gameday experience easy to get more fans in.

@red-hornet  For sure.  I think we have upside to add $10-20M+ of annual revenue if we can get football going like we have so far.  What a massive difference that would make.

I took a look this morning.  I have my same seats as last year and the number of sold seats around me already is a big difference from last season.  You have to go about 10 rows back to start getting blocks of available seats, last year you only had to go back 1 row or even down two seats in my row.  In my row there is a single open seat.  Last year there was like 6 to 8.

There’s currently only around 2,500 tix left for the Illinois game. Just a fun little nugget.

@packtherock Is that because Illinois is buying lots of tickets? I hadn't thought of them traveling real well like OSU does.

While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon

No.  Illinois' football fanbase isn't very good.

No. They were only selling single game tix to IU donors up until two days ago. They had already sold close to 50,000 by the time it opened up to the general public. Also, Illinois never travels well.

I also think we need to stop worrying about takeovers. Other than perhaps OSU, no one is really doing that. We sold out 4 times last year and Michigan and Nebraska barely had any presence in the stadium.

@packtherock Great point on takeovers being a thing of the past.  I think OSU won’t be near as much of an issue as they used to be going forward as our fans will be really excited to buy up tickets for that game now.  It’s a new era.
