So much drama there. This guy is 39 years old and his coaching career is likely over. Rumor is his arrest was from getting into an argument with his wife where he threatened to kill himself. Then left and broke into the staffers house where he threatened to kill her and himself. Sounds like he is spiraling. Thankfully he’s in protective custody. Hopefully he can get some therapy and find a new path in life.
@olympian97 I think he’s going to be in protective custody, or prison for a long time. I’ve just spent an hour on the Michigan board. Seems their AD will be getting fired tomorrow. Everyone, including players, has known about this for months and the AD has tried to protect him

Couldve stayed in the coaching profession and made this a lot easier by admitting it. But very few do that.

It’s a tale as old as time. A guy in a lofty place in life who forgets every sensible thing he ever knew to get in a woman’s pants, only to have his world turned upside down as a result. The total lack of judgment is astounding, as is the selfishness and narcissism. He leaves a smoldering trail behind him, including his family, his players and coaches, and his employer, all of whom get to clean up the mess he dumped on them. Everyone is imperfect, but it’s hard to fathom how this guy would do this. Terrible stuff.
Probably a great opportunity for the next guy to come in with a fresh approach. Just hope the dominos don’t fall a certain way and it puts Cignetti back in play for a certain job that would be difficult to pass up.

Cignetti isnt leaving, in fact I think he is less likely to leave than coaches at big time schools like Kalen DeBoer, Dan Lanning etc are.
Outside of his age and compensation, Cig has a stable, normal administration to work with - which is why he explicitly mentioned them in his contract. Look at the weirdos running these "top" jobs. I wouldnt touch the PSU, LSU or Michigan job with a 10 foot pole after how their schools handled firing coaches and ran their coaching searches
