Appears a SEC vs B1G Challenge weekend is gaining momentum coming out of Big Ten meetings last week.
Will be interesting to see what response comes about out of this weeks SEC meetings.
Love the Big Ten is taking the initiative to throw down the gauntlet on further dominating the the SEC on the gridiron.
Curious, what are your top teams and stadiums you would like to see IU travel, and play at, and dominate at in SEC land?
Mine is probably a night game at LSU because I like the novelty that stadium holds, whoop some Cajun ass, and a tailgate seafood boil would be tasty.
Lastly, would like to see this Challenge played early to mid Nov when some weather can be apart of the games for those southern teams traveling north
I’d love this. Hope it happens.

Has to be Kentucky for us. Bring back the Border War.
It would be fun, however there would be two big ten teams with no foe every year.
I would also need a guarantee that these games are on campus and not at a neutral site.
However, I’d rather just bringing back the Bourbon Barrel game against UK.

I think the whole concept is a huge mistake…
In our case, we just finished decisively proving our current scheduling model…
To junk it and go out of our way to make our early game schedule twice as difficult and blow up our “building block” foundational pre-Big Ten schedule concept seems lunacy to me…
The biggest problem with this SEC game in the preseason is primarily the extra wear and tear on our players…
I think the Big Ten is being played for suckers if they buy into this scheduling model… It favors the teams with the most depth, year in year out, and while we clearly have the best coaching…, the SEC still, far and away, has the most depth (per team), in my opinion…
I don’t want to see Any of them until we thrash them in the Playoffs…

But it greatly increases the chances of us being able to brag about being the last undefeated team for longer
Why would the Big Ten want this? Right now they rule the roost. They have the SEC’s number in the post season. Nothing to do but lose their bragging rights here.
Interesting counterpoints.
I thought these games would be fun and good for TV. But it's true the status quo is good for us and the B1G.
Well, whatever happens, happens.
Like some of the posters have said and pointed out, why would IU do this after going 16-0. If I am IU, and I am not, I do not change anything unless it is mandatory.
All of these changes are being caused by greed, but until a ruling entity says you HAVE to play it this way I would not.

assume that is how it will go. cigs isn't going to make the schedule any tougher until he is forced.
I would prefer that they also wait to release a poll until after that week of the challenge. At least then it would be based on tangible results on the field (of course that won't happen since people make money on pointless preseason rankings that continue to effect every ranking afterwards).
@hurryinghoosiers releasing a poll after this hypothetical challenge is still irrelevant and largely matchup dependent. If Florida beats Michigan St., but Northwestern beats Mississippi State what does it actually say?.

Not much but still 100x more than preseason says when it is total guesswork. And many times more than what cupcake games show
If one conference dominates the other, then we know which conference deserves more spots in the poll
@hurryinghoosiers probably, but still matchup dependent. It’d be fun. Some one floated that the P4 leagues should play each other in the three non-con games
