2) 247 has our composite ranking at 28. Not sure where it was before.
I think we've had some high school classes ranked around #25 on 24/7.
I'd guess this is our best high school class on average quality... sometimes the rankings give more credit to class size.
But it doesn't matter much anymore imo. High school recruiting is not near as important as it used to be. We're only spending ~10% of our roster budget on high school classes now, so the key is getting the right fit at the right price and that won't always show up in the rankings services.
I mostly just care if Cig is happy with the class. So, we'll see what he says we he can comment on it after signing day.

We moved up two spots on 24/7 and one spot on On3. I think this commitment (and hopefully signing) was bigger in reality.
@tammany So we dropped what, 4 or 5 spots by taking a zero star that is now a 3 star and when we finally get a 5 star we only move 1 or 2? No wonder Cig has been preaching that stars don't matter.
@tammany Could not agree more. But it's still a fun talking point. Every coach and fanbase in the country knows Cig has mastered the portal. This gives them something else to worry (bitch, moan, accuse, excuse) about. I am so freaking glad I've lived long enough to see this unfold before our very eyes. As a little kid going to games in the mid 60's to becoming a lifelong (and now old) Hoosier football fan, this is truly astonishing.
At least a couple on this forum may slow on being worried about the class.
NIL has helped us, but Cig plays moneyball and he feels prices are too high for many Frosh. Not all... 😉
Considering that, it's a good class! I'm pumped about it. Really like the guys we are getting. Keep winning and class strength will go up. We will never compete head to head with the flash and weight room size, etc. of the long established football factories. But our stuff is good and clearly at least one 5* feels he will be well trained.
