Just paid $480 via Ticketmaster verified in the south end zone. They are currently in my TM account. Taking the red eye NYE from Chicago Midway.
I'm in. Got a ticket from Ticketmaster but also have a buddy with season tickets that might hook me up if she decides to come out. Hotel reservations made. All I gotta do is make the drive down from the Bay area.
@mtbrider depending on your price point and how close you want to be to the ocean, I've stayed near the Rose Bowl (wife of 37 years is from the area) many times and my (and my family) favorite place is the Langham Huntington-Pasadena. It's a true resort feel and not too far away.
Anyone staying in the West Beverly area, albeit closer to beaches and Disneyland, should plan minimum 2.5 hours time from hotel room to seat on game day (parking and traffic a true mess every game day) if parking at the Rose Bowl and adding to that if goal is to include brunch, tailgating, etc.
Have my tickets, hotel and airline tickets. Now the only question is wether to attend the tournament of roses parade. Just curious if most are attending or for those that have been before, is it worth it? I'm not a big parade person, neither is wife, but feel like we should try to see it. Just curious what most think. Also, I see you need tickets. I certainly don't mind tickets if necessary, but is it possible to see the parade without the tickets?
Edit: Just looked it up, looks like you need tickets for grandstand seats, but curbside is free. I'm guessing you just need to get there early for a decent curbside view.
@dht Really appreciate the info. Checked your hotel recommendation and it's full, but looked awesome! I was afraid the timing on game day would be an issue, we'll be planning on leaving very early in the morning, so hopefully that would help? The main reason we're looking at Beverly is we have some friends staying in the area and a couple of our people would like to see some other LA things. Do you think Burbank would be better as far as timing goes? Appreciate all the help, travel all over the country for work, but the LA area is one I seldom get to.
@low-level-flyer Talked to a buddy that went out years ago, he told me the parade was a "must do" event. Now, like you, I'm about the least interested person in the world when it comes to parades and my buddy is the same way. He just said it was very cool and amazing what they do with the flowers on the floats. With that said, I'm still not sure I'll be doing it, but who knows.
@mtbrider probably depends on how long you plan to stay and what else you plan to see? If you're going to be out there for several days and wanted to see stuff closer to the beaches, Disneyland, etc - then I'd just stay closest to what you plan to see or do most of the days you are out there. If the primary event is game day - then somewhere in Pasadena, Glendale or Burbank is a good bet. My father-in-law used to work at a company called Parsons, and their parking lot is kind of ground zero for where the shuttles are to the Rose Bowl. I strongly recommend NOT trying to park at the Rose Bowl. From freeway exit to parking spot alone can be 40-45 minutes, and leaving (as it will be a full stadium) could literally take you an hour and a half to get from parking spot back on to a freeway. With that said, if your body clock is still going to be on EST and you want to get to the game early to tailgate with a 1pm kickoff, all cars park on the adjacent golf course and it is fun to set up your tables and chairs on manicured grass that you can then walk around and toss the ball barefoot if you want. If you have any specific things you are planning to see I may be able to help recommend other locations to stay - but regardless - have a GREAT time!

@cavanagh already have NYE obligations otherwise would have flown out for it. Going to need to start keeping new years blocked off for the Cignetti era
My retired pops and his IU booster buddys are going! They’ve gone to most if not all of IU’s bowl games in the last 60 years! Unfortunately, I can’t go because I got little vacation time left and am holding out for possible Peach Bowl tickets! 🙏
